Super Sunday looks like it could live up to it’s billing today with a brilliant line-up of games from the Premier League.
It all kicks-off at Stamford Bridge at noon where Graham Potter’s Chelsea host high-flying Arsenal. The Gunners were the last away team to win at the Bridge, where the Blues will be aiming to make it 13 unbeaten (W7 D5).
Mikel Arteta’s side have been hugely impressive this season and if they have true title ambitions these are the kind of matches they need to take something from but a trip across the capital shouldn’t phase them, they’ve already won four London derbies this term.
There’s almost nothing between the sides in the betting and at the time of writing Chelsea are just edging favouritism. It should be a close one and the draw pays 12/5. Goals could be the best angle but both teams to score pays just 7/10 so it could be one to add to the accas.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored 92 goals for the Gunners and is 9/4 to find the net against his former club.
The next game live on Sky Sports is Newcastle‘s visit to Southampton. Pep Guardiola reckons the Magpies are genuine title contenders so if the Man City was a betting man he’d no doubt be snapping up the 10/11 on Eddie Howe’s men prevailing on the south coast.
Confidence is oozing out them at the moment and they’re more than good enough to claim the the three points against a flaky Saints side. You can have the same 10/11 on the Toon hitting two goals and it could be the influential Allan Saint-Maximin who is the main man. The striker looks set to return and he’s 3/1 to find the back of the net.
Unai Emery takes charge of Aston Villa for the first time and he’ll probably learn lots about the size of his task after the visit by Manchester United.
The Red Devils have been hard to beat and the only goal conceded in their last six was a Jorginho penalty. 11/10 looks a tempting price for the away win as does the 11/4 on Erik ten Haag side winning to nil.
Match of the day could be in north London where Spurs welcome a hugely unpredictable Liverpool. On their day the Reds are still one of the best sides in the world but trying to predict what they’ll do on any given match is a thankless task at the moment.
They’re certainly capable of winning this one but 11/10 feels more like a price based on reputation rather than form. That said, Son Heung-min will miss out for Spurs, further limiting Antonio Conte’s striking options. That means resposibility will fall on Harry Kane’s shoulders once more and the England captain, who has scored six league goals versus Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool is 7/4.
Celtic piled the pressure on to Rangers with yet another injury time win after Dundee Unites had equalised late on. That moved the Hoops seven points clear so the Gers must respond with a win at St Johnstone this afternoon.
But Rangers have a solid record against the Saints and they should be too good in Perth at 3/10 although it might not be plain sailing against Callum Davidson’s men who have found their shooting boots of late and picked up six points in their last two games without playing particularly well.
Rangers have kept just four clean sheets in 12 this season, and that’s before you talk about Europe where they shipped 20 goals in six group games. BTTS pays 6/5.
