4.30 – British EBF Fillies’ Novice Auction Stakes (6f)
Both Alone Time and Rania boast winning form already but they may struggle conceding a penalty to FAIRY DUST. The Tom Clover-trained filly was runner-up in a similar event over C&D last month, leading late on before being run down by a rival that ran well next time in Listed company. She can make the most of the weight she gets to go one better now.

Theotherside and MOUNTAIN BRAVE arrive after recent wins over C&D and at Leicester and it is Mark Johnston’s daughter of Sepoy that is fancied to follow up. She was a neck-winner 13 days ago but likely had more in hand than that slender margin so can defy a 4lb rise in the ratings. Richard Hannon’s charge also has scope for better, despite her 6lb hike, but the form of her C&D success has been let down since.
5.30 Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Handicap (1m)
Hughie Morrison’s filly TREATY OF DINGLE has returned to action with successive runner-up finishes at Lingfield on the all-weather and here over C&D last month. She couldn’t peg back all-the-way winner Alibaba last time but stuck to her task gamely and, raised only 1lb, appears to hold sound each-way claims once more this evening at 8/1

ARABIC CHARM can get Oisin Murphy on the scoreboard here as Godolphin’s daughter of Exceed And Excel can be expected to improve markedly from a debut effort at Haydock earlier in the month.
She looked in need of the experience there but still ran well enough to be fourth, failing to finish as well as expected after that early greenness. The Saeed bin Suroor-trained filly meets better ground this evening and should be more streetwise, while having the champion legged up won’t do her cause any harm (31 per-cent strike-rate for this yard previous 12 months).

The second division of this maiden may go the way of Charlie Hills’ runner KING’S KNIGHT, who shaped with plenty of encouragement in fifth over C&D 22 days ago. He was rather green in that run but it was a strong event of its type and the son of Dark Angel should have gleaned plenty from it. The William Haggas-trained Kettle Hill also debuted in a strong Newmarket maiden on the same afternoon and finished fifth, and has claims now.
7.00 Follow At The Races On Twitter Handicap (5f)
No lack of C&D-winning form here and one of those to have scored here is GRANDFATHER TOM, who was recording his third success of the term when he scored at this track last summer. His most recent run at Newmarket suggested a return to form and, now back on his previous win mark, he’s drawn ideally here to get away with a lead and may be able to give his claiming rider a second winner in a week.

Sir Michael Stoute’s filly A LA VOILE was having only her second run when she returned from 334 days off to win at Bath at the start of this month. She really finished off her race well and looks sure to improve once again upped in journey. She’s completely unexposed and an opening mark of 78 will possibly underestimate her ability. The class-dropping Hold Fast is feared most.
8.00 Sky Sports Racing HD Virgin 535 Maiden Stakes (1m2f)
Arabian Romance is a likely sort for Saeed bin Suroor after a promising second at Yarmouth on debut but so, too, is the William Haggas-trained STAR OF WINS. He improved on his second start to be second at Bath behind A La Voile, form that hopefully will be boosted in the previous contest this evening. The extra two furlongs here should be a plus-factor as Tom Marquand seeks to collect another success for a trainer in excellent form.

The champion jockey will delight his fans if he can sign off with a winner this evening on BOOM BOOM BOOM at a decent price. He was doing his best work late on at Chelmsford on handicap bow and is going to be suited here up in trip. The Raven’s Pass gelding is still learning after four starts and will benefit from having Murphy on board for the first time. This isn’t a strong finale and it’s worth taking a chance on Stuart Williams’ charge finding improvement.
