Monday marks the final the week of the elongated Premier League season and there are three games taking place across the evening, with two kicking off at 18:00 while the third gets underway at 20:15.
Seagulls to Secure Premier League Status
At the AMEX Stadium, Brighton play host to Newcastle United in one of those 18:00 starts and the Seagulls know a point would be enough to guarantee their top-flight status for another year.
Graham Potter’s men are 16th in the standings, six points clear of the drop zone, and they will be confident of overcoming a Newcastle side ravaged by injuries ahead of the contest.
Opposing boss Steve Bruce is without Fabian Schar, who has been sent to see a specialist, while there are big doubts over the fitness of Florian Lejeune, Isaac Hayden, Sean Longstaff, Paul Dummett, Allan Saint-Maximin, Ciaran Clark and Jamaal Lascelles.
Brighton and Newcastle have racked up a combined 23 draws this season and with a point all that the hosts need, backing the draw at 5/2* could be the route to go down.
Blades to Down Inconsistent Everton
Also at 18:00, Sheffield United take on Everton at Bramall Lane and the Blades could be worth backing at 11/10 to come out on top, given the fact they are still battling for Europe and the Toffees have nothing to play for.
Chris Wilder’s men sit eighth in the table, four points behind Tottenham in sixth, and the Steel City outfit will be hoping they can take the battle for a Europa League finish down to the final game of the campaign.
Everton have taken just 10 points from their last 10 matches and they have not won their final away league game of the season since May 2015 against West Ham, a record that doesn’t look like it will change this evening.
Wolves to Maintain European Push
The final game of the day takes place at Molineux at 20:15, where Wolverhampton Wanderers will also be looking to press their European claims against an out-of-sorts Crystal Palace.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are sitting seventh in the standings, a position that could be good enough for Europa League football next season, but victory tonight would see them leapfrog Spurs into sixth.
Wolves are on a two-game unbeaten run, having beaten Everton 3-0 before a 1-1 draw against Burnley, and they should have enough to overcome a Palace side that already appears to be on the beach.
The Eagles have lost their last six matches, conceding 15 times, and their tally of 30 goals for the campaign is the second-worst behind relegated Norwich City.
Roy Hodgson also has selection issues ahead of the game with left-back Patrick van Aanholt set for a lengthy spell out with a dislocated shoulder, while Gary Cahill and James Tomkins remain sidelined.
Belgium international Christian Benteke is banned while midfielder Luka Milivojevic, the most booked player in the Premier League this term, could miss out with a knee problem.
It is clear to see that Wolves have everything to play for in this contest and they look like the safe bet to come out on top at 10/21, while a win to zero also appeals at 10/11.
