It’s just 447 days until kick-off in Qatar and by the end of this World Cup qualifying break we’ll be a huge step closer to knowing which teams will be making the trip.
Scotland look up against it in Copenhagen where a depleted sqaud will take on Euro 2020 semi-finalists Denmark. Steve Clarke has a pool of just 16 outfield players to choose from as he aims to build on the five points collected from their opening three games. This is undoubtedly Scotland’s toughest match in Group F so it’s a bit of a free hit for the dark blues.
The Danes are just 2/5 to win but should do so with room to spare. They’ve hit 14 in their three qualifying matches so far and can be backed at a healthier 4/5 to win and score 2 or more with Bet365.
Norway could be a team to keep an eye on in qualifying. A 3-0 home defeat to Turkey was not in the script but with the outrageously talented Erling Haaland on board anything is possible. They host a Dutch side who had a disppointing Euro 2020 tournament and look a bit on the short side at 4/5 to win in Oslo. Backing the Norwegians or the draw in the Double Chance market pays 10/11.
Luxembourg are another team on the up and they’re gradually shaking off their minnows tag. A 1-0 win over Republic of Ireland wasn’t a siesmic as it would’ve been a decade ago such is their improvement and they gave Portugal a fright by taking the lead when they met, only to succumb 3-1 in the end. 11/10 on a home win over bottom of the group Azerbaijan could be a steal.
Cristiano Ronaldo needs one more international goal to break the goalscoring record and he’ll fancy his chances at home to Republic of Ireland. The Portuguese striker is 8/13 to score anytime or 9/4 to open the scoring in the friendly match at Estadio Algarve.
Don’t miss all our match previews for the next couple of days where we’ve got all the betting angles covered for the big international matches.
