Revenge will be in the air in Luxembourg where Ireland will be aiming to finish a disappointing qualifying campaign with a win.
Results and performances have been much improved since the Irish lost to tonight’s opponents back in March. It took two late goals by Ronaldo for Portugal to get the better of them in the Algarve and the Irish deserved a well-earned point against the Portuguese last week. They’re now six unbeaten and in fact have lost just once in their last nine.
Luxembourg are a much-improved side but still struggle against higher-ranked opposition and the Irish feel-good-factor can carry them to victory at 11/10.
Sweden look to have blown their chances of automatic qualification following a 2-0 defeat to Georgia on Thursday. The Scandanavians were in pole position and looked like they’d need just a point from the crunch match with Spain on the final matchday of Group B, however they now travel to Seville in need of a win against the 2010 winners.
That looks a step too far according to the bookies who make them 8/1 chances to get the three points they need. Away defeats to Greece and the Georgians have been costly for the Swedes who beat the Spaniards in Solna earlier in the group.
There’s not been too many goals shared among the teams in this group wih 10 of the 18 going under 2.5 Goals and matches averaging 2.38 goals. This could be another tight affair with so much at stake. A low goal count in the first half appeals and on the Asian Line Under 1.0 Goals pays 2.00 (evens), meaning that if there is one goal we get our money back. Alternatively, no goal before the 29th minute is 5/6 at Bet365.
Top spot is still up for grabs in Group H where Russia lead Croatia by two points. They both meet in Split this afternoon where the Croatians will hold the advantage. They’ve put a matchday one defeat to Slovenia behind them to go unbeaten in the rest of their games in what is a relatively weak group. But a win, at 4/7, will be enough for the 2018 World Cup finalists to book their place in Qatar.

Golf Tips
Denmark’s Joachim Hansen is joint leader in Dubai ahead of the final round of the AVIV Dubai Championship and could land the spoils for The Caddy at a lovely 40/1. He’s joined in 1st place by Francesco Laporta and they’re a stroke ahead of Antoine Rozner.
Tommy Fleetwood, who as tipped by The Caddy at 12s, isn’t out the picture either, sitting T5, just three shots off the top. With The Caddy’s third pick, Dean Burmester, seven strokes behind the leaders there’s plenty of chances for a payout if you backed The Caddy’s tips. Best of luck on Sunday!
