Heart of Midlothian will be looking to record back-to-back wins in the Scottish Premiership for the first time this season when they welcome Motherwell to Tynecaslte on Sunday.
After cruising to a third place finish last season, Robbie Neilsosn’s seventh-placed side have thus far struggled to demonstrate the same level of consistency this term.
As for Motherwell, they snapped a three-game losing run with hard-fought 1-0 win over 10-man Dundee United last weekend, a victory that moved the Steelmen to within one point of a place in the top-six.
Steven Hammell’s side may have a taste for revenge here after suffering a 3-0 defeat at home to Hearts back in September but the bookmakers’ odds suggest they could suffer a similar fate in the capital this weekend.
Jambos backers will be offered a general 9/10 about Robbie Neilson’s side securing successive league wins this weekend but we can get some 10/11 (William Hill) on the home team scoring two or more goals and that looks a little too big to ignore.
Admittedly, midweek continental commitments will have affected Hearts’ preparations ahead of the clash, but they are still a strong squad packed with some stellar talents.
It’s alo worht pointing out that Robbie Neilson rung the changes as his Hearts side brought the curtain down on their European campaign on Thursday, so there will still be an element of freshness that the Jambos chief can introduce for this fixture.
What’s more, Hearts have scored multiple goals in seven (58.3%) of their 12 Scottish Premiership matches this season – a tally only topped by the Old Firm – with the Gorgie club grabbing at least two goals in three of their last four league outings.
Whilst Motherwell are a hard-working and well-organised outfit who never go down without a fight, they have shipped two or more goals in a league-high seven (53.8%) of their 13 Scottish top-flight fixtures this term to date.
With this in mind, coupled with the fact that Hearts hit three strikes in their last home game against Celtic, siding with Over 1.5 home team goals on Sunday stands out at 10/11 (William Hill).
