THERE are six fixtures from the Swedish Allsvenskan on Sunday afternoon and I’m hoping to pick up where I left off after chalking up two odds-against winners yesterday.
Helsingborg vs Djurgarden (Sunday 13:30)
Bottom of the table Helsingborg will be looking to boost their bid to beat the drop when they welcome Djurgarden to the Olympia Stadion on Sunday afternoon.
Olof Mellberg’s men have lost each of their last three matches and have won just one of their last eight Swedish Allsvenskan assignments.
Djurgarden, meanwhile, have taken maximum points form six of their last seven league games with their only setback from that sample coming against Goteborg in a 2-2 draw last weekend.
I highlighted Helsingborgs’s knack for racking up corners last Sunday and I’m going to revisit the same betting angle this weekend with the view to backing the hosts to hit four or more corners at 11/10 with Sky Bet.
Helsingborg are hitting 5.2 corners per-game this term and when digging a bit deeper it can be seen that Melberg’s men have hit four or more corners in four of their last five fixtures, including an eye-catching total of five when they recently visited league leaders Malmo.
What’s more, Helsingborg’s fixtures are featuring an average of 10.59 match corners per-game this season – the third highest in the division. – and given their need for three points here I’m happy to back the hosts hit four plus corners yet again on Sunday.
It’s also worth noting that Helsingborg hit four corners in the reverse fixture last month and that only adds to the appeal of siding with a repeat at the Olympia Stadion.
For reasons already discussed I fancy a few Helsingborg corners here but when you consider that the visitors have hit 14 corners across their last two road trips, I’m also happy to back both teams to hit at least one corner either side of the interval at 10/11 with Sky Bet.
Malmo vs Elfsborg (Sunday 16:30)
The top two in the table go toe-to-toe on Sunday afternoon as Malmo meet Elfsborg at the Eleda Stadion.
Jon Dahl Tomasson’s table-toppers have won nine of their last 10 Swedish top-flight tussles and they could further strengthen their position at the summit this weekend.
Elfsborg’s title bid has faltered in recent weeks having taken just one point from the last six on offer and they come into this clash seven points adrift of their opponents.
Given Elfsborg’s need for three points here coupled with the fact Malmo were in Europa League action on Thursday night I’m again to delve into the corner markets with the view to backing the visitors to hit four or more corners at 11/10 with Betway.
Malmo have conceded four or more corners in five of their last six league games, while Elfsborg have taken at least four corners in all but one of their last seven Swedish Allsvenskan outings.
With that in mind, I’m happy to have a play on Elfsborg to take four or more corners in this clash and I’m also attracted to the 4/5 on offer with Sky Bet for there to be nine or more match corners on Sunday – a punt that would have paid out in each of the last 14 league matches that these two sides have contested collectively.
What’s more, value could also lie with the 10/11 on offer with Sky Bet for both teams to take at least one corner in each half – a combination that has clicked in five of the last six matches that these two sides have taken part in.
