THE focus is on Scotland and France on Sunday after we didn’t learn too much from the Community Shield.
I saw some people dismissing Liverpool’s chance of a title defence on the evidence of 90 minutes against Arsenal.
That’s just daft as it was nothing much more than a friendly and while the Gunners won on penalties it doesn’t mean a lot.
For me if Man City sign Lionel Messi they win the league but whatever happens Liverpool are likely to finish top two.
The games in the Scottish Premiership are Celtic vs Motherwell and Hibs vs Aberdeen. Celtic will be aiming to bounce back from their Champions League exit and of course have weakened their opponents after signing David Turnbull for around £3m.
Hibs have made a fine start to the season while Aberdeen have been in decent form and will have taken confidence from their 6-0 rout of Runavik in the Europa League.
Kevin Mac has posted predictions and a match preview from Hibs vs Aberdeen.
In France there are six games and I need wins for Marseille and Monaco to land a 7-1 treble after Rennes beat Montpellier on Saturday.
I’ll add another double or treble later or in the morning.
Well done to all the winners on Saturday including SlipTips with a full house on his Swedish tips and everyone who backed Hamilton corners.
1pt French Treble
