After delivering a clean sweep of winners on Christmas Eve, SlipsTips takes a look at the Bet Builder market ahead of Burnley and Liverpool’s Premier League encounter on Boxing Day.
Burnley vs Liverpool (Boxing Day, 17:30)
Liverpool will be looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they travel to Turf Moor to take on Burnley on Boxing Day.
The Reds’ title hopes have been following back-to-back home draws with both Manchester United and Arsenal respectivley, the latter of which saw me land a 7/1 Christmas cracker.
As for Burnley, they boosted their Premier League survival bid with an impressive 2-0 win away at Fulham on Saturday, however filing three points from their latest festive fixture is going to be a very tall order.
That is reflected in the odds, with Liverpool general 2/5 chances here, however I’m going to highlight an alternative angle of attacking by merging Liverpool Double Chance, Over Zero Burnley Cards and Josh Brownhill to Commit a Foul at 4/5 (Bet 365).
While Burnley are finally showing signs of getting their act together, they have lost a whopping eight of their nine Premier League home games this season, with their only Turf Moor points to date coming against fellow relegation rivals Sheffield United.
The likes of Man City, Aston Villa and Tottenham have all emerged victorious from this venue with room to spare so I’m more than happy to kick-off the Bet Builder by just backing Liverpool to just avoid defeat in Lancashire.
To bolster the odds, I’ll also back Burnley to pick up a minimum one of booking during this Boxing Day bout – Vincent Kompany’s side are averaging just over two cards per-game in the top-flight this term, collecting a minimum of one caution in 16 of their opening 18 league fixtures of the campaign.
Given that he is likely to be assigned plenty of defensive work during this contest, for the final leg of 4/5 (Bet 365) Bet Builder, I’ll go with Burnley’s Josh Brownhill to commit a minimum of one foul.
The Clarets midfielder’s combative style has seen him average one foul per 90 in the Premier League this season, getting on the wrong side of the referee at least once in eight of his last nine appearances.
This combination would have clicked in seven of the Claret’s last nine Premier League matches and supporting the same formula on Boxing Day looks worth backing at 4/5 with Bet 365.
