Rennes’ failure to pick up a single card in Paris saw Saturday’s recommended Bet Builder come up short but I’m hoping to sign off for the weekend with a winner from Serie A.
Atalanta vs Inter (Sunday, 14:00)
Both Atalanta and Inter will be desperate to get back to winning ways when they go toe-to-toe in Bergamo on Sunday afternoon.
Gian Piero Gasperini’s goalgetters were savaged 5-0 when hosting Liverpool in midweek, while Inter fell short during a thrilling 3-2 loss away at Real Madrid.
Closer to home just one point separates these two sides in the Serie A standings, with both respective teams registering just one win each across the last three rounds of fixtures.
Punters will naturally gravitate towards the goal markets at the Gewiss Stadium, however, the bookmakers odds reflect this and therefore I’m going to get creative by making use of the Bet 365 Bet Builder feature.
The 5/6 combination that I like the look of on Sunday is both teams to score, both teams to receive over zero cards and over two match cards.
11 of the 12 leagues games that these two sides have contested collectively this season have seen both teams get on the scoresheet, and all six of Atalanta’s Serie A assignments this season have produced three or more strikes.
When digging slightly deeper it can be seen that La Dea’s leaky backline have shipped 13 goals in six outings so far, while Antonio Conte’s charges have chalked up just one Serie A shutout in six.
With that in mind, coupled with the fact that the Nerazzurri have notched up two or more goals in eight of their last nine Italian road trips, I’m more than happy to go for goals in Bergamo.
What’s more, with an action-packed and closely-fought contest anticipated on Sunday I’ll also add both teams to collect at least one card and over two match cards to the aforementioned Bet Builder.
The Bergamo boys fluid and free-flowing football can often lead to them being exposed on the counter-attack, and that usually leads to them clocking up a few cards – Gasperini’s swashbucklers are averaging 2.33 cards per game this term.
Inter, meanwhile, have picked up at least one card in all but one of their eight matches this season and referee Daniele Doveri has dished out at least three cards in the two Italian top-flight tussles that he has taken charge of this term.
It’s also worth noting that the above-mentioned Bet Builder has banked in five of Atalanta’s opening six league fixtures and that only adds to the appeal of siding with a repeat on Sunday.
Recommended Bet
- Both Teams To Score, Atalanta Over 0 Cards, Inter Over 0 Cards & Over 2 Match Cards – Bet Builder – 5/6 (Bet 365)
