THERE’S a huge match from the Scottish Premiership tonight as bottom club Hearts travel to fellow Strugglers St Mirren in what is a massive match for both sides.
A month or so ago I wouldn’t have looked at this game but both sides are scoring and conceding goals and I think the odds on over 2.5 goas is over priced at 6/5.
Tonight also see’s the return of one of my favourite leagues for goals in the form of Austrian 2.Liga – its a terrific league for goals and is definitely a league to concentrate on
And finally, Friday wouldn’t be Friday without our French Ligue 2 goals specials
St Mirren vs Hearts (7.45pm)
Not quite a 6 pointer yet but its certainly a massive game for both sides as they look secure their Premiership survival.
Daniel Stendal’s tenure as Hearts boss certainly hasn’t gone to plan and for them to be bottom of the league at this stage of the season is an embarrassment.
The German realises the predicament his side are in and he’s challenged his players to stand up and be counted as they look to go level on points with with St Mirren with a win tonight.
One win in 11 league games simply isn’t good enough as they enter their biggest game of the season and the big worry for Hearts is the number of goal they are conceding. Since beating Rangers they’ve conceded 13 goals in their last 4 games, defensively they have been all over the place.
They are much more of an attacking threat but will really miss striker Liam Boyce who is out injured so we may see Ikpeazu take his place.
St Mirren were involved in an epic Scottish cup replay on Tuesday night as they beat Motherwell on penalties after the match ended 4-4.
Incredibly, the Buddies found themselves 4-1 up at half time but a second half collapse saw Motherwell peg them back and with no further goals in extra time, it was decided on penalties – hardly ideal preparation for such a big game.
St Mirren frontman Jon Obika was terrific on Tuesday night and Saints fans will be hoping the big Englishman will continue his good form and give the Hearts rear-guard a torrid time.
There’s no doubt losing Boyce is a blow for the Jambo’s but given the how crucial this match is for both sides and Hearts leaky defensive, it’s worth backing goals at odds against.
