THERE have been loads of big stories in Scottish football this year but right up there is the transformation of Motherwell.
Manager Stephen Robinson looked on his way out after a Scottish Cup exit at the hands of Ross County. But his side responded with five successive wins and their only defeat in eight was at Celtic.
From looking doomed Robbo’s rockets can climb into the top six with victory at Hibs today.
It’s some turnaround and has been inspired by kids with David Turnbull and Jake Hastie in fab form up top.
Hibs have lost just one in five under Paul Heckingbottom and battled to a point at home to Rangers last week.
It’s a massive game at Easter Road and I’m siding with Well’s young guns at a big price of 16-5 with betfair. Well draw no bet pays 19-10 at McBookie.
Turnbull netted the winner against Hibs in January and two in the victory over Hamilton last week. He is 8-1 at betfair to score first while Hastie is 15-2 at McBookie.
Hibs also pose a threat up top with Florian Kamberi and Marc McNulty. To mark his Scotland call-up with a goal McNulty is 4-5 at McBookie.
With so much forward talent on show there should be goals and over 2.5 goals for the fifth successive meeting at Easter Road pays 6-5 at Marathonbet.
Rangers and Killie meet for the fourth time in seven weeks and it will be interesting to see how Steven Gerrard’s men react to their Scottish Cup exit at the hands of Aberdeen.
Gers will take confidence from beating Killie 5-0 in the Cup but a home looks short at 4-11 with Ladbrokes.
Killie are 9-1 at betfair but best bet could be stick with Alfredo Morelos, who hit four in that cup romp, at evens with bet365 to score and end his mini drought.
And what of Aberdeen who can play away but suffer nosebleeds at home. The Dons have won eight and drawn one (at Celtic) of their last nine on the road but at Pittodrie their only success in eight was against QoS in the Scottish Cup.
Confidence should be sky high after their displays against Celtic and Rangers and I’m tipping them to beat Livingston for the third time this season. The Dons are 4-6 at Ladbrokes.
Tomorrow Celtic are just 1-5 at Dundee and 3-4 at McBookie to win to nil at a ground they’ve conceded once in six trips.
In the Championship there are two massive games – Dunfermline v Dundee Utd and Falkirk v Partick Thistle.
It looks like Ross County have the title in the bag but Dunfermline have roared into play-off contention after five wins in a row to nil.
They tackle a United side without strikers Pavol Safranko and Osman Sow and whose good run stalled with a cup defeat against Inverness and league loss at Partick.
Pars to win to nil is 17-5 with McBookie while they are 8-5 at Betfred just to win. A fifth 1-0 victory in six pays 7-1 at McBookie.
Falkirk and Partick are fighting with Alloa to avoid the drop and there’s every chance of the sides cancelling out each other and I’m on a draw at 12-5 with 188BET.
In League One best bets could be Dumbarton, on a run of four wins and a draw in their last five, at home to Airdrie at 11-10 with Betway.
Second and third in League One meet as Forfar entertain Raith and I’m going for goals. The last four at Station Park have seen both to score and over 2.5 goals and that pays evens at bet365.
Both to score at 10-11 with Ladbrokes looks the call at Annan v Edinburgh and Peterhead should win well at Berwick where they have netted 16 in five visits. Four of those have gone over 3.5 goals and another pays 7-5 at Marathonbet
