The Sky Sports cameras are in Merseyside for tonight’s clash between 3rd bottom Everton and 5th placed Tottenham.
Cristian Stellini finds himself in the Tottenham Hotspur hotseat yet again following the inevitable departure of Antonio Conte after he took a swipe at the club’s hierarchy. It’s been a period of turmoil for the north London club but this season would be considered a success of sorts if they can secure a top four finish.
Yesterday’s result at St James’ Park means Spurs can go in to third in the table after Newcastle leapfrogged Manchester United with their 2-0 win.
For Everton it’s all about Premier League survival once again. Sean Dyche has guided the Toffees to three 1-0 wins at home since his arrival, with only Aston Villa leaving Goodison Park with anything under his watch.
Spurs are without a win in 5 away games and look too short to get onside with at 6/5. Everton at 12/5 look the value bet tonight. Six of their remaining 10 matches are against teams in the top half of the table so Dyche will know that he needs to make the most of games at home but you could hardly trust them either.
If you do fancy a Spurs related bet then how about the fact Everton are one of Harry Kane’s favourite teams to play against. The England captain has scored 14 Premier League goals against them, only Leicester have conceded more to the striker. Kane has scored five in his last four outings including two in two for England and is 13/10 to add to his 23 goals scored already this season.
Or perhaps Richarlison will return to haunt his former club. The Brazilian has failed to score a single Premier League goal for Tottenham since his £50m move from the Toffees. It would be typical if he broke that run with a goal at Goodison tonight at 3/1.
Before we finish up today, and in response to some of the comments yesterday, a reminder that this is a free, public forum. Unfortunately from time to time it attracts trolls.
We do our best to minimise the disruption they cause. There are regular, abusive comments that you never see because they are moderated and do not make it on to the site. However, this is not, and never will be a closed shop and new members will always be welcome.
Social media sites and forums far larger than ours are plagued with the same issues and it is a balance between being a free site that is open to a wide ranging adult community and accepting that some people will abuse that liberty.
Unfortunately the trade-off is that we as a community need to accept that trolls will infiltrate the comments section from time to time, however we act as swiftly as possible to deal with them. We are not a large team behind the scenes and we do our best to be online and monitor when we can.
Thank you for your understanding.
