Another weekend of Championship action is upon us with Fulham looking to bolster their title credentials, while there is a very quick reunion at Peterborough United.
The Cottagers won again on Tuesday and are now 11 points above third-placed QPR and are looking almost certain to regain their Premier League status.
Aleksandar Mitrovic scored another two goals to take his tally for the season to 33 and he is genuinely in contention to break the all-time second-tier record of 42.
Bournemouth are second as they face Stoke City only two points above QPR, but they do have the luxury of games in hand over their rivals.
At the bottom of the table, Grant McCann takes charge of Peterborough for the first time in his second stint and, as luck would have it, he faces former club Hull City, who sacked him only a month ago.
Mitrovic Leading Fulham To Success
Having Aleksandar Mitrovic in the side has almost been akin to a one-goal headstart for Fulham this season.
The Serb has been phenomenal, scoring 33 goals in 32 games as the Cottagers sit nine points clear of the rest.
His record in the Premier League isn’t great but at Championship level he just has an aura which hasn’t been seen for a long time.
His and Fulham’s next task are Cardiff City, who look to be safe for another season but are too far off a play-off bid.
Steve Morison’s side were leading at Huddersfield Town until the 88th minute on Wednesday, but threw the lead away and lost 2-1.
They will be feeling sore after that loss and Mitrovic will be able to take advantage – he can be backed to score first at 23/10.
Close Contest Expected At Bournemouth
Scott Parker’s Bournemouth sit second and they can consolidate their second-place standing with a win against Stoke at the Vitality Stadium.
The Cherries had been on a poor run of just two wins from ten which saw them nearly lose grip of second but three consecutive wins have seen them bounce back.
However, they have lost three of their last five matches at home and have shown vulnerabilities since the autumn.
Stoke’s play-off hopes are looking fairly slim after a run of only one win in seven, though they have lost only two of their last eight away games and could pose Bournemouth some issues.
However, the Cherries should prevail and can be backed to win with both teams scoring at 11/5.
Can Posh get new McCann-ager bounce?
Grant McCann is the chosen one to replace Darren Ferguson with the former club captain back for a second stint in charge.
He has his work cut out keeping Posh in the Championship as they are eight points above safety, having won only one of their last 18 games.
It will be interesting to see McCann come up against Shota Arveladze’s Hull, who aren’t in great form themselves.
The Georgian won his first match in charge, but has since picked up only two points from six matches.
McCann’s presence will offer the home fans a lift and they can be backed to win at 33/20.
