SCOTLAND are back on the road to Qatar 2022 tonight but they will have to defy the odds to avoid defeat in Denmark.
The Danes were arguably the most exciting side at Euro 2020, blazing a trail to the semis, and have started the World Cup qualifiers by smashing 14 goals without reply.
So McBookie make them 2/5 hot favourites for a win in Copenhagen, with the Scots 13/2 and the draw paying 7/2.
Both teams are missing some big hitters, with key midfielders John McGinn and Scott McTominay out for Scotland while Denmark are without strike duo Martin Brathwaite and Kasper Dolberg.
But Kasper Hjulmand still has wonderkid Mikkel Damsgaard and the Sampdoria forward will be a massive threat to Steve Clarke’s defence.
Damsgaard is 41/20 at Unibet for anytime scorer while McBookie price him at a tempting 16/5 for an assist.
Scotland’s biggest problem at the Euros was scoring goals, with just one netted across their three games. So it could pay to go for a Denmark win to nil at 6/5 with BetVictor.
With the Scots set to be on the back foot for most of the game, another good option is backing a few of Clarke’s players for a card.
Norwich stopper Grant Hanley is 4/1 to be carded at Unibet and that looks great value.
Ireland also face a daunting task away to Portugal and it could pay to back a heavy win for the hosts. Portugal -2 in the handicaps pays 7/4 at Bet365.
Cristiano Ronaldo is way too short for a goal at 2/5 with McBookie but Diogo Jota is better at 23/20.
Elsewhere I fancy a treble on Austria, Israel and Luxembourg, with that bet paying 312/100 at BetVictor.
