Inter Milan will look to take full advantage of AC Milan’s slip-up this weekend when they welcome Lazio to the San Siro on Sunday.
The Nerazzurri finished second in Serie A last season and Antonio Conte is aiming to go one better with the Milan-based outfit in 2020-21.
Meanwhile, the Rossoneri have been the pacesetters for the majority of the campaign, thanks largely to 14 strikes from veteran frontman Zlatan Ibrahimovic, however, Inter have a hitman of their own.
Lukaku the Main Man for Inter
Romelu Lukaku also boasts impressive figure with 14 goals and two assists in 20 appearances and the Belgian, who can be backed at 23/20
to score anytime against Lazio, will be looking to add to that tally on Sunday.
Milan’s shock 2-0 loss at Spezia on Saturday was just their third defeat of the term and has offered the Nerazzurri the opportunity to climb to the summit if they pick up all three points when Lazio come to town.
Lazio, who have the third best away record in Serie A, certainly can’t be written off as they attempt to strengthen their claims for a European berth.
They head into Sunday’s engagement sitting sixth and just two points adrift of third-placed Juventus.
However, Conte’s men boast the second best home record in the division, winning eight, drawing one and losing one, and they have a scored a league-high 29 goals on their own patch.
Backing an Inter win and over 2.5 goals, which is available at 23/20
, looks the way to go in this 19:45 kick off.
That bet has landed in three of Inter’s last four on home turf in Serie A, them having scored at least two in all four of those fixtures.
Sassuolo to Stop the Rot
Sassuolo made a fine start to 2020-21, losing just once in their opening eight Serie A outings, however, they have struggled to maintain that form.
They have failed to win in their last five fixtures, losing three times during that sequence, but have the perfect opportunity to address that poor record when they head to rock-bottom Crotone.
The basement outfit have won just three times this campaign and fell to a 4-1 defeat in the reverse fixture in October.
Crotone have the worst defensive record in Serie A, conceding 50 times and have only kept two clean sheets all season.
Indeed, conceding the first goal has been a major issue for Sunday’s hosts and they have trailed at half time and gone on to lose on 14 occasions, therefore, the value lies with Sassuolo to be leading at half-time and full-time, which can be backed at 2/1
.
Goals at a Premium in Verona
Monday’s Serie A encounter sees Hellas Verona welcome relegation-threatened Parma to the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.
Verona have lost three of their last four outings – earning a surprise win over Napoli during that run – to all but end their hopes of mounting a push for a European spot.
They are ten points adrift of sixth-placed Lazio, but the positive news is that they are 15 clear of the drop zone and don’t appear to have too many concerns about being in a relegation scrap.
Unfortunately, the same can’t be said about Parma, who have won just twice all season and subsequently sit 19th with a four-point gap to safety.
Parma haven’t tasted victory since November 30, enduring a 12 match winless streak and their position in the top-flight is under serious threat.
This clash looks set up for Verona to pick up the maximum points but don’t expect it to deliver on the goals front.
Verona have netted just 26 times this term and 12 of their 21 matches have seen fewer than three goals scored, while that has also been the case in nine of Parma’s fixtures.
The reverse did go in Parma’s favour, a 1-0 win, and the standout bet looks to be under 2.5 goals at 5/7
.
