It’s a busy time in Newmarket at this time of year with the Tattersalls yearling sales and plenty of top-quality action on the Rowley Mile. I have a nice ride in the big Cesarwitch Handicap tomorrow for James Ferguson. It’s a crazy race with 34 runners spread across the track – the race actually starts in Cambridgeshire and finishes in Suffolk! There are plenty of jump horses that target this race due to the 2-mile 2 furlongs distance.

16:10- TRUE COURAGE
TRUE COURAGE has been a fantastic horse for the Michael Bell yard this season. He fired in a hat-trick back in June and July and was very cleverly placed by Michael Bell. He was pitched up in class in the Melrose at York but struggled a bit in that grade. He bounced back to form at Ascot when running well behind a smart horse owned by the Queen. He is perhaps a little high in the weights, but he very rarely runs a bad race and the ground is drying out which will certainly suit him.

15:35 – SNOWALOT
SNOWALOT is trained by young trainer James Ferguson who has taken to training with such ease. He has had a fantastic start to his career, and I’m thrilled for him and all the team at Saville House. Snowalot has been a very progressive type this season, winning at Salisbury and Goodwood. He just sneaks into the race and will carry a very low weight. I rode him on Thursday morning and James has got him in great form. It’s a very hard race to judge with so many jumps’ horses bringing different form and handicap marks in, but we are unexposed at this extra distance and if he stays, we have to have a good chance.
Stay safe,
Hayley!
