Our tipster has come up with the best tips across the two evening cards.
8.38pm Towcester – D1
Coppice Fire has made an excellent start to his career at Towcester. He has prevailed on two of his four appearances at the track, giving him a 50% strike rate going into this D1 contest.
Kevin Hutton’s March ’20 dog scored on his latest start here in a D2 race last week. He produced a smart time of 16:03. If he clocks that again tonight, he will be hard to beat.
As the only wide runner in the race, Coppice Fire will hopefully get around the first bend with no trouble. He has been trapping well and the recent sectionals indicate he will lead the dog on the inside of him to that opening bend. Expect to see him pick up the top prize.
Selection: Trap 6 Coppice Fire
7.44pm Crayford – S5
It is only a matter of time before Toomdeely scores in this S5 grade. She has been successful on 12 occasions before at Crayford, so she knows exactly where the finish line is.
The experienced bitch will relish the striped jacket as 11 of her 12 wins have come from trap six. She finished second in this grade six days ago, clocking a time of 34:72. A repeat of that should be enough in this race.
The Droopys Jet bitch is versatile so don’t be too concerned if she does not break well. On her last victory, she only had one dog behind her at the first bend. She finished that race strongly to get up just in time.
Shaheny Diamond in trap two is the obvious danger in this race, but she keeps finding trouble in her races and that bad luck may continue here.
Selection: Trap 6 Toomdeely
7.36pm Towcester – D2
It has been a consistent couple of months for Salacres Tingle, who has not been outside of the front two on her last four outings. She has just one win to her name from that sequence, but she is unlucky it is not more.
Victory in this D2 grade came three runs ago when the bitch was the first out of the boxes to the opening bend. She made that advantage count, scoring by just under two lengths. On her two follow-up attempts since then, she has found just one too good for her on the day.
This trap one draw is perfect for Peter Hampden’s runner. She has been coming off the boxes well and if that is that is the case again, she can lead them from start to finish to keep up her excellent form at Towcester.
Selection: Trap 1 Salacres Tingle
