SCOTTISH CUP action this weekend which is really disappointing for two reasons – no St Johnstone match as we are out and secondly it has decimated the Scottish Premiership and Championship card.
Still plenty of games to get stuck into though and like Wednesday night at Tynecastle, I expect it to be a fiery affair as Celtic make the trip to Edinburgh for the second time in four days as Neil Lennon returns to his old club.
Hibs vs Celtic (5.15pm)
If this match is half as good as Wednesday’s Hearts vs Celtic match we should be in for another good day as Lennon takes charge of his second Celtic game. It’s again in Edinburgh but this time at his old club Hibs who he left in controversial circumstances just over a month ago.
It’s a 5.15pm kick-off on a Saturday, Scottish Cup quarter-final, and with a good percentage of the fans having the full day to enjoy a few beers, it should ensure there is an electric atmosphere and like Wednesday, that should transfer on to the pitch.
Hibs have their fair share of players who enjoy a booking (Stevie Mallan, Flo Kamberi and Mark Milligan to name three).
And with this being against their old manager, you can expect the Hibs players to up for it, especially Kamberi who fell out with his old boss and was part of the reason Lennon left, was dismissed, sacked, whatever it was.
Celtic have lost their last two trips to Easter Road and face a Hibs side full of confidence after four consecutive wins and a hat-trick of victories for new boss Paul Heckingbottom. The hosts will fancy their chances of causing an upset and it should be a cracking game.
Can definitely see Hibs scoring and wouldn’t be surprised to see goals buts it’s cards I like the look of and as I’ve already said, it’s a 5.15pm KO, Easter Road will be rocking and there is added spice with Lennon being back. (I wonder if he’ll get a hug from Leeann Dempster).
