Fantasy football transfer tips this week

The Everton Triple up

While Everton weren’t heavily featured in the build-up to the new FPL season, they’ve quickly become a must-have for the coming weeks. The focus may be on the new midfield arrivals, but there are other Everton assets to who look set to come good in the coming weeks.

Their defence got a boost with a 1-0 win over Tottenham, so we see Lucas Digne (£6million) and Jordan Pickford (£5m) as two to watch out for this weekend. Everton have a straightforward run of games ahead, facing West Brom, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Southampton in their next five matches. That looks good for potential clean sheets, while this weekend’s opponents West Brom were exposed by Leicester’s full-backs last weekend, making Digne a good option.

Meanwhile, Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£7.1m) has had an early price rise as he looks to be a promising attacking option in weeks to come. He’s likely to get chances against those sides, while FPL managers are looking at him as a great option given the creativity that is likely to surround him going forward.

Justin Time

With Leicester facing a defensive shortage, James Justin (£4.5m) has stepped up to the plate. The full-back picked up a clean sheet and an assist against West Brom last week, while more points could be on the cards against a Burnley side who are without a lot of attacking threat.

Brendan Rodgers did make Leicester look solid at the back last season, while the rise of Caglar Soyuncu amkes us hopeful that we have another underrated Leicester talent on our hands here.

Man United Bruno Fernandes

Manchester Clubs Return

The Manchester clubs are back in action this weekend, but with Man City facing a difficult clash against Wolves were avoiding Pep Guardiola’s stars for another week. However, Bruno Fernandes (£10.5m) looks like the man to chase after now, given his brilliant end to the season last term.

The Portuguese midfielder takes United’s set-pieces, their endless supply of penalties and outside of that just tends to shoot whenever he fancies. Add into that his assists for United’s forwards last term and you have yourself an all-round FPL asset who should spark into life when he returns to action against Crystal Palace.

More Attacking Options

There are a few interesting options going forward in FPL this weekend, with Leeds’ striker Patrick Bamford (£5.6m) looking to build on his scoring streak against Fulham. The striker found the net home and away to the Cottagers last season and he’ll be fancied to thrive against a fellow promoted side after scoring at Anfield.

In midfield, Leandro Trossard (£6m) sticks out for us as well. Brighton started him up front against Chelsea in their opener and that could make him a solid, cheap midfield assest. Despite that positional advantage and his goal against Chelsea in the opener, Trossard is owned by just 0.7% of fantasy managers.

Who to captain for GW2

Willian Aubameyang Arsenal

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

While some will push you towards a differential captaincy pick this weekend, there’s really only one choice. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has committed himself to Arsenal and he’s in line to celebrate that against the league’s new Newcastle, West Ham.

Things aren’t going well for the Hammers, who have their fans turning on the board after a lack of transfer activity. Their status as the new Newcastle – complacent owners, angry fans and a bad team – was confirmed by their 2-0 home defeat to Newcastle last weekend.

Now the Hammers head to the Emirates looking deflated and poor. They’re perfect fodder for Aubameyang, who is an even better FPL option after being categorised as a midfielder for the coming season. Given that West Ham conceded 15 shots to Newcastle, Auba should clean up this weekend.
