IT was another tough Saturday for punters with many of the top teams again dropping points after the international break.
This is becoming a common theme with sides such as Man City, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, PSG, Atalanta and Celtic all slipping up.
Well done to any winners including Kevin Mac and SlipsTips for winners on their match preview with SlipsTips kicking off the day with three out of three at Newcastle vs Chelsea.
I tipped Spurs not to lose to City at a big price but no goal for the away men beat my both to score treble although it could have been covered as the other two landed early.
A special mention for Slimster1984 who won a £25 bet in our Masters contest and put it on a treble to win £157.96.
Celtic came from 2-0 down to draw late at Hibs but as some Hoops fans on the site commented that felt like a defeat.
Rangers have a chance to move 11 points clear – although Celtic will have two games in hand – if they beat Aberdeen at home on Sunday.
That would be a significant gap and it’s getting to the stage where nothing else but victory for Neil Lennon’s men at Ibrox will keep them in the running for 10 in a row.
I fancied Rangers, who remain unbeaten in all competitions this season, even before the news emerged about Scotland Under-21 players testing positive and having to self-isolate along with close contacts after their return from Greece.
This means Aberdeen will be without star man Lewis Ferguson as well as Connor McLennan. Ross McCrorie is also affected but would have missed the game anyway as part of his loan agreement.
It’s a huge blow for the Dons but as Rangers are no bigger than 2-7 at Betfred we need to look elsewhere for value. Rangers to win to nil has a chance but my Super Single is Rangers and under 3.5 match goals at 20-21 with boylesports.
In the Premier League Liverpool have also been badly hit for their match with Leicester who have been backed in to 29-10.
Jurgen Klopp has lost Mo Salah who tested positive on international duty with Egypt while the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez remain sidelined with several others doubtful. But there’s enough quality in there and the manager will look for big games from his special reserves.
Klopp’s squad strength will be massively tested but it’s still asking a lot for Leicester to win at Anfield where Liverpool are unbeaten in 63 and many people will be tempted by the champions at 10-11 with William Hill. Best bet here could be both to score at 4-7 with William Hill.
The Premier League games start with Everton trying to end a run of three defeats at Fulham and they are just under evens to do so.
West Ham are 7-5 at Betfred to win at a Sheffield United side who have lost 10 of their last 11.
There should be goals when Leeds host Arsenal and I can see the home side avoiding defeat.
We have match previews and predictions from Elland Road and Ibrox.
On the Continent most of the big games are in Italy but plenty of others to look at. I’ve posted a Super Single and will add other bets.
Super Single
- Rangers & under 3.5 goals (12 noon)
- (20-21, boylesports)
