THERE should be a full Scottish Premiership card on Friday as Scotland boss Steve Clarke is given a helping hand for next week’s Nations League play-off against Israel.
However, due to Celtic and Rangers’ involvement in the Europa League play-offs we’re left with four games.
We have Aberdeen vs St Mirren, Dundee United vs Livingston, Hibs vs Hamilton and Kilmarnock vs Motherwell and
I’ve posted a seperate preview with tips and make Aberdeen and Hibs the most likely winners as they try to keep in touch with the Old Firm at the top.
Six Killie players have tested positive so a decision on whether the game goes ahead will be made in the morning.
Elsewhere it’s Norwich vs Bournemouth in the Championship with both clubs trying to recover from relegation last season.
On the Continent the featured games are Union Berlin vs Mainz, Fiorentina vs Sampdoria, PSG vs Angers and Utrecht vs Heerenveen so plenty too consider.
Fiorentina vs Samp has saw both scoring in the last five meetings in Florence. Last week Fio crashed 4-3 at Inter and Samp went down 3-2 to Benevento so this one again promises goals.
After a disastrous start with weakened teams PSG are back on track with three wins. They’ve beaten Angers five out of five at home in Ligue 1 and netted 16 goals. Consider them -1 or to score 3+.
Sixteen out of the last 17 meetings between Utrecht and Heerenveen saw both scoring or over 2.5 match goals so I’m going with the game here and Fiorentina for a btts double.
And don’t forget to check out lower-league matches in Germany and Holland for goals opportunities.
Well done to all the winners on Thursday – there were plenty of shocks with big guns Wolfsburg and AC Milan struggling. Wolfsburg crashed out at AEK Athens while Milan won an incredible penalty shoot-out 9-8 against Rio Ave. And congratulations to Dundalk for making it through – that’s some achievement.
My two Europa League trebles lost but my 5-2 double won thanks to both to score at Rangers and Spurs -2AH.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are the 4-1 joint favourites with Coral to defend their Champions League trophy following the draw for the group stage of this season’s competition.
Manchester City are also 4-1 in the firm’s outright market, Liverpool can be backed at 11-2 and PSG are 11-1.
“Bayern Munich were magnificent in the Champions League last season and they top the outright market alongside Manchester City in this year’s competition,” said Coral’s John Hill.
“Liverpool are unsurprisingly at the top end of the betting for the trophy, while Manchester United have a tough group stage draw and are the biggest price of the four English teams in the tournament.”
Both to Score Double
- Utrecht vs Heerenveen (7pm)
- Fiorentina vs Sampdoria (7.45pm)
- (8-5, Betway)
