After surprisingly seeing a lack of goals at The Amex on Monday night, Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the EFL, and there is one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals.

Charlton will look to distance themselves from the League One relegation zone as they welcome mid-table Northampton Town to The Valley tomorrow evening in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Michael Appleton’s hosts have scored 40 goals across their opening 27 matches in League One this term, with 26 (65%) of them coming on home soil. The Addicks have only failed to find the back of the net at home against promotion-chasing Bolton – scoring a minimum of two goals in eight of their previous 11 – and will be confident of breaching a Cobblers defence that is without a clean sheet away from home in each of their last eight League One matches, shipping two or more in five of their previous seven.
Jon Brady’s visitors have scored 32 goals across their opening 26 contests in the English third-tier this campaign, with 12 (38%) of them coming on their travels. The Cobblers have found the back of the net in 8/12 (67%) of their road trips – scoring on multiple occasions in three of their previous four – and will look to trouble an Addicks defence that’s recorded just two clean sheets since the opening day of the season, shipping multiple goals in 14 (54%) of them.

Charlton’s opening 14 League One fixtures in front of their supporters this season are averaging 3.29 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in 11 of their previous 13 – and given the same has landed in each of Northampton’s previous seven away-from-home – I’m happy to have a punt on there to be at least three strikes with the hosts scoring at least one of them in South-East London tomorrow evening.
