Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me once more focus on the Nations League fixtures and I’ve picked out one of the most in-form sides in Europe to record a comfortable win against their struggling opponents.

Two sides who have had contrasting fortunes in the Nations League so far meet in Tbilisi, as high-flying Georgia play host to struggling Bulgaria at the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena.
Georgia claimed an impressive 0-3 victory away to Euro 2020 participants North Macedonia in mid-week, with their clean sheet downing Thursday’s Bet of the Day. After kicking-off their Nations League campaign with a routine 4-0 victory at home to minnows Gibraltar, Willy Sagnol’s side travelled to Razgrad and hammered Bulgaria 2-5. Whilst Georgia failed to qualify for this years World Cup in Qatar, they did win each of their last two World Cup qualifiers, winning 1-2 away to Kosovo before defeating Sweden 2-0 at home. That’s now five competitive wins for the Crusaders, with Georgia scoring 16 times in those victories, scoring on multiple occasions in each.
Despite taking the lead on the stroke of half-time, Bulgaria suffered an embarrassing 1-1 draw away to Gibraltar which ultimately cost Yasen Petrov his job. Bulgaria also drew their First Nations League fixture 1-1 at home to North Macedonia, but as mentioned above, they were took apart 2-5 by the free-scoring Georgians. The Lions failed to qualify for this years World Cup, finishing second from bottom and eight points behind second-placed Italy. Prior to their 4-0 thrashing away to Switzerland, Bulgaria lost 3-1 away to lowly Lithuania in their previous away game, which proved to be the Lithuanians only points throughout their World Cup qualifying campaign.
Bet of the Day
Both Georgia and Bulgaria appear to be two nations heading in very different directions and it’s the high-flying hosts who I’m keen to get onside here. As well as winning their final two World Cup qualifiers, Willy Sagnol’s side have won their opening three Nations League fixtures. In contrast, Bulgaria have collected just two points from their opening three Nations League matches, with one of them coming last time out against minnows Gibraltar. Bulgaria failed to win any of their four World Cup qualifiers away from home, losing to Switzerland and Lithuania in their last two, conceding seven times in those two matches and I can’t see them avoiding defeat here. Gibraltar have scored a staggering 16 goals in their last five competitive wins, with five coming in the reverse fixture in Razgrad. Therefore, I’m happy to combine a home win with the hosts to score twice at a very appealing price.
