The first game of the ESL Pro League Season 15 group stage has the French juggernaut G2 Esports going up against the Australia-based Looking For Org (LFO). As G2 are ranked no.3 in the world and LFO are ranked no.83, they have never met in a tournament before, making this their first meeting in the ESL.
G2 are coming off a second-place finish at IEM Katowice 2022. Since adding their new wonderkid, Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov, G2 have compiled a decent record and have six wins and two losses in their last eight BO3 series. Meanwhile, LFO are coming off a fourth-place result in the PGL Major Asia RMR Qualifier and have been slowly but surely creeping up the world rankings.
LFO look to be up against it in this match, as they have not won a single BO3 series in the last month, going 0-5. Entropiq and Mouz only played each other three weeks ago in the IEM Katowice play-in tournament, where Mouz took the BO3 series 2-0, claiming the first map 16-14 and then the second map 16-6.
Entropiq have not been in the greatest of form over the last month. They have amassed two wins and four losses in their six BO3 series, although one of those victories came via forfeit. Even though Mouz have only achieved two wins and three losses from their five BO3 series in the last month, they have been matched up against much stronger opposition in the IEM Katowice main event since beating Entropiq in the play-in tournament.
Given the victory over Entropiq three weeks ago and the similar records over the last month, Mouz are the deserving favourites in this series. The $1.66 on the moneyline looks the way to go.

The last series on day one of the ESL Pro League Season 15 group stage should be a competitive one as the two Swedish teams in Group A face off. Even though both of these teams have been at a lot of the same tournaments together, they have only played each other once over the last six months, in a BO1 where Ninjas in Pyjamas won 16-7.
These sides have very similar records in the last month when it comes to BO3 series. NiP have three wins and four losses over their last seven matches, whereas Fnatic have managed three wins and three losses from their six matches. Fnatic may have a few roster changes coming into this tournament, as there is some talk that Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin could be sold to NiP just days before this game is set to take place.
