SPARTA Rotterdam literally cost punters tens if not hundreds of thousands of pounds last night in what was a real sore one given the chain of events. Despite that it was another good night with the NAP and over 1.5 goals landing in Holland.
It’s a busy old card today but not one I particular like with games scattered about all over the place at home and Europe. Wolves love their tussles with the leagues big sides and are more than capable of derailing Man United’s champions league aspiration. It’s been a terrific season for Nuno Santo’s Wolves side – 6th in the league and an FA cup semi final to look forward to. It doesn’t get any better than that and I say that because they are the best of the rest and realistically 6th is best they could hope to achieve this season given the finances of the big six.
They absolutely love playing the big sides, they’ve drawn with City, drew away at Chelsea, hammered spurs at Wembley and have beaten Liverpool, Man u and Chelsea at home , loosing just 2 of their 10 matches against the big 6 which is incredible.
They’ve won 6 of their last 7 at home scoring at least 2 goals in 6 of those games and will fancy their chances to inflict more misery on another big club.
Its a crucial game for both clubs with 4 teams breathing down Wolves’s neck whilst Man U are embroiled in a 4 way battle for the remaining two champions league places. They can ill afford a slip up here and need to win this.
United are without a clean sheet in 6 games now which must be a concern and Wolves are more than capable of exploiting that – prior to a 2-0 defeat at the emirates, United had won 6 away games on the bounce and its a game where we should see both sides score.
The bookies are offering odds against their being over 2.5 goals and I’m happy to take that given how good Wolves have been at home, their record against the big 6 and the importance of this game to both teams
