MAKE or break at Hillsborough tonight as Sheffield Wednesday host Nottingham Forest in a match both sides must win if they are to keep alive their slim playoff hopes.
Forest sit 5 points off the playoff spots, Wednesday 6 and with this being must win it should lead us to an open game with goals definitely more likely than the odds against bookies are giving.
Sheffield Wednesday vs Nottingham Forest (KO 7.45pm)
The hosts were on a good run of results until Aston Villa put a serious dent in their promotion hopes at the weekend with a 3-1 win. It was their first defeat in 11 and that run has given them a chance of sneaking into the playoff spots.
That loss to Villa was also their first loss at home in 12 and they’ll be looking to continue that good home form against fellow promotion chasers Forest.
The visitors are incredibly consistent and on the road, their form has been woeful with no wins in their last 12 and that has to be a real concern for Manager Martin O’Neill.
There is zero chance of Forest keeping a clean sheet here and given the importance of the match it should be an open game. Owls striker Steven Fletcher has found his scoring touch again and could be a good shout to net but it’s match goals I’m on here.
The last 6 meetings between the sides have seen over 2.5 goals and with bookies offering a big 5/4 for goals, I’m happy to take that.
Recommended Bet:
- Over 2.5 match goals
- 5/4 (Marathonbet) (NAP)
