I’ve had a busy week with a few nice winners but could do with some more!!
I’m heading to Carlisle tomorrow and to Market Rasen on Sunday where MansionBet are sponsoring the meeting.
Saturday 3rd April – Carlisle
14:13 – Bird On The Wire
He’s a grand big horse, a winning point to pointer who’s improved with every run over hurdles. He ran well at Catterick last time out on a track that probably wasn’t best suited to him. It will be his first run over fences tomorrow and his first time at Carlisle but we think both should suit him better and like to think he has every chance.
14:48 – Wetlands
He’s a grand horse who’s done nothing wrong. He finished 2nd at Carlisle three runs ago and has won his two races since. He’s an improving horse and carries a double penalty but we think he can cope with that. He’s got Fergal O’Brien’s Karl Philippe to beat – but he pulled up and had a hard race three weeks ago at Sandown. We like this horse a lot and he is going there with every chance.
15:23 – Licklighter
He’s not a horse I’ve ridden before but Laura Morgan’s horses are running well. He won at Bangor and then finished 2nd at Cartmel last time out. He’s not run at Carlisle before so we’re not sure if the track will suit. I’m hopeful he’ll run a big race but I don’t know a lot about him.
15:58 – Storm Nelson
He makes a quick reappearance, just six days after his last run where he was a good winner at Carlisle. He carries a 7lb penalty tomorrow. He won impressively the last day so you’d like to think if he reproduced that alone, he would be good enough to win this race. He’s going there with every chance.
16:33 – Cooking Fat
He’s a horse I’ve won a couple on in the past. He’s improved on both runs on return from a break and was running well at Carlisle in a better race than this when he unseated at the 4th last. There are a few in there who you could maybe give a chance to, such as Kalaharry. You’d like to think he has every chance on his back form but would be more hopeful than confident.
17:05 – Artic Quest
I’ve not ridden him before and don’t know a lot about him. I’m just hopeful he’ll run a big race.
