Autumn is firmly on the horizon as we head into September, and that means jumps racing is soon set to return in earnest.
There’s a National Hunt card at Worcester on Wednesday, with seven races from 4.30pm-7.30pm, and MansionBet are proud to be the lead sponsors at the meeting.

4.30 – Free Tips On Attheraces.com Handicap Chase (2m½f)
All five contenders finished either first or second on their previous jumps start. Admiral’s Secret romped home at Stratford 13 days ago and must be taken seriously, while Atlantic Storm is consistent and Swaffham Bulbeck should be sharper for his recent Flat run. That said, MIX OF CLOVER was a convincing winner at Bangor recently on chasing bow over this sort of distance, and his 7lb penalty might not halt him.
Selection: Mix Of Clover @ 7/4
5.00 – Mansionbet Bet 10 Get 20 Handicap Chase (2m7f)
Quartz Du Rheu was a C&D winner at the start of July for Jonjo O’Neill and can go well again here with his rider today, offsetting the bulk of his penalty. Kabrit has more on his hands after a first chasing defeat last time, but perhaps YEAVERING BELLE can record a first success over the larger obstacles. She was second over C&D on her first attempt in May and still appeared full of running when unseating Conor Gethings at Southwell the following month.
Selection: Yeavering Belle @ 11/4
5.35 – Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Mares’ Open NH Flat Race (2m)
Shantou Champagne sets the standard for this Mares’ bumper runner-up efforts at Market Rasen and Stratford on her last two starts. She’s been tapped for toe in those races, however, and maybe wants further. Also, Fergal O’Brien’s newcomer REBEL ROXY is bred to have a change of pace in her, and this isn’t the strongest event. She could have a big say on her debut.
Selection: Rebel Roxy @ SP
6.05 – Mansionbet Watch And Bet Handicap Hurdle (2m7f)
Goa Lil picked off the frontrunners under a patient and well-timed ride from Sam Twiston-Davies over fences at Stratford nine days ago and should go well again. None of this quartet is easily overlooked, though maybe Imperial Knight will benefit from the run. It wasn’t much of a race; Putting Green won at Perth in July, and so HAUL AWAY gets the nod for Nicky Henderson and James Bowen. He disappointed here over fences a fortnight ago, but he might be able to dominate this contest, and he’s won twice around here over this trip (hurdles and fences) this season.
Selection: Haul Away @ 11/4
6.35 – Happy 50th Birthday Mark Day Juvenile Hurdle (2m)
Both Corporal Jones and KEEPYOURDREAMSBIG finished second on their introductions to jumping and have decent claims of going a place better now with improvement likely. Marginal preference is for Olly Murphy’s charge, who might have got closer to Sacre Pierre (won again since, easily) at Uttoxeter had he jumped the final few obstacles with more fluency.
Selection: Keepyourdreamsbig @ SP
7.05 – Mansionbet Best Odds Guaranteed Maiden Hurdle (2m)
Mordred was runner-up on hurdling bow at Stratford in June but didn’t build on that next time at Uttoxeter. The ex-Richard Hannon inmate isn’t written off. GALATA BRIDGE was a three-time winner on the level for Sir Michael Stoute and has shown his well-being in three starts in that code since returning for new trainer Dr Richard Newland. He should be well-schooled over timber and could be too good for these.
Selection: Galata Bridge @ SP
7.35 – Mansionbet Beaten By A Head Mares’ Handicap Hurdle (2m4f)
GREEN OR BLACK hasn’t got the best win ratio (2-26 over timber), but she continues to be in good form and was third at Stratford on her last two starts. Neil Mulholland’s mare is eased another 2lb now by the assessor and could be interesting tackling this new trip for the first time under Sam Twiston-Davies.
Selection: Green Or Black @ 6/1
