Team goals look the way here as Jorge host a Potosi side who are notoriously poor on the road…
JORGE WILSTERMANN VS. REAL POTOSÍ
(2215 KO):
DESTINATION Cochabamba this evening and a welcome return to The
Estadio Félix Capriles to cheer on old favourites Wilstermann who have started their Apertura with a fairly consistent goalscoring record.
The hosts have hit 3-2-2 team goals in their last three games with the most recent seeing them put 3 past a very solid Royal Pari outfit away from home which is no easy feat!
Royal visit a sign of things to come
That 2-3 victory could well signal Jorge’s intent for this campaign and was some result; with both Bolivar and The Strongest once again showing signs of vulnerability, there’s every chance Wilstermann and other ‘peripheral’ teams like Pari, Blooming and Sport Boys could look to capitalise.
As much as I fancy the hosts here, it’s this evenings opposition that really up the interest level and away from their mountain lair in Potosi – a ground even loftier than La Paz – the visiting side’s form is pretty damn questionable to say the least.
Real’s away form unreal
Of Potosi’s most recent 31 matches on the road, they have won just one, drawn 2 and lost the rest – the picture declines further when you consider that solitary ‘away’ win was against city rivals Nacional Potosi!
It’s not as if those defeats have been close-fought encounters either; Potosi have been ripped apart more often than not having conceded 4-8-7-2-2-5-2-0-3-2-4-2-5-4-4-2-0-3-2-2-3-4-6-5 goals over a 12 month spell stretching back to February 2018.
History could repeat itself
Both sides have pitted their wits against one another 11 times over the last 20 months with goals-galore the prominent outcome; in 8 of those H2H, there was a minimum of 4 match goals whilst a further 4 saw scorelines of 0-6, 2-5, 3-2 and 4-3…all of which being wins for Wilstermann!
