This is it. The moment of truth for Arsenal and Manchester City. There won’t be any trophies getting dished out at the Etihad but by 10pm tonight we’ll have a good idea of where the title will be destined.
On the face of it, Arsenal look like they’ve blown it after three consecutive draws which has seen their lead evaporate but a win at their title rivals would get everything back on track.
However, Manchester City look unstoppable at the moment. They’ve cruised in to the semi-finals of the Champions League, the final of the FA Cup and are unbeaten in nine in the league (W8 D1) to set up a Treble-chasing crescendo to the season.
So who’ll come out on top tonight? Well the bookies think it’s pretty cut and dried. Man City come in at just 11/20 whilst Arsenal are as big as they’ve been all season at 17/4.
City would’ve been a short price tonight despite the Gunners’ recent collapse so 11/20 doesn’t seem too unreasonable against a team who must be feeling the strain of recent weeks.
Not only have Mikel Arteta’s side dropped points but they’ve also conceded seven goals in their last three outings and kept just one clean sheet in nine. That has to be a huge concern when facing the league’s top scorers who have netted 30 times in their last eight outings (avg 3.75 per game).
Pep Guardiola would love nothing more than to hammer home his side’s superiority against his former apprentice and we could see Haaland and co put Arsenal to the sword this evening. Two or more Manchester City goals pays 1/2 but just one more will pay a healthier 6/4 and the form that either side is in it can’t be ruled out.
