PLENTY of Premiership sides have come a cropper in the League Cup group stage but Kilmarnock and Ross County haven’t put a foot wrong so far.
They both have 100 per cent records and a third successive win tonight would more or less seal their places in the knockout stage.
Derek McInnes is starting to put his mark on the Killie squad, with the Rugby Park side winning 3-0 at home to Annan then 2-0 at Dunfermline.
They now host Raith Rovers and McBookie make Killie 1/2 hot favourites, with the Championship side 17/4 and the draw paying 16/5.
McInnes always has his team well drilled defensively so it could pay to bet against BTTS (20/21, McBookie) while another win to nil pays 9/5 at Coral.
Ross County romped to a 5-1 win in their opener at Stranraer but had to come from behind late on to beat Morton 2-1 on Saturday.
They now travel to FC Edinburgh, who have lost both their games, and the Staggies are 2/5 favourites.
Simon Murray has four goals to his name already and McBookie price the in-form striker at 11/10 for anytime scorer.
Dundee still have some work to do to reach the knockout stage after a late Airdrie penalty condemned them to a 1-0 loss on Saturday.
Dumbarton visit Dens Park tonight as I’m backing a home win to nil (11/8, Coral) with the Dark Blues looking solid at the back under Tony Docherty.
Peterhead host Spartans in the other League Cup tie tonight and it’s a tricky one to call.
The best bet here could be under 2.5 goals and that pays 20/21 with McBookie.
There’s plenty of Champions League qualifiers for punters to sink their teeth into and the standout game sees Maccabi Haifa travel to Sheriff Tiraspol.
Both sides have graced the group stage in recent seasons and I fancy BTTS in this one at evens with Coral.
In the women’s World Cup, Ireland will bid to bounce back from their narrow defeat by hosts Australia when they take on Canada.
Canada drew 0-0 with Nigeria in their opener and I fancy them for a win to nil today at 7/5 (Coral).
Super Singles
- Dundee win to nil (11/8, Coral).
- BTTS in Sheriff v Haifa (evs, Bet365).
