Man City have clocked up the miles in December with trips to Serbia and Saudi Arabia, where they were crowned Club World Champions, but its a short journey along the M62 for them tonight to take on Everton.
Concern for City will be that their talisman Rodri limped off against Fluminense but they’re hopeful he should be fit for tonight. We all know how important he is for Guardiola’s side – they’re unbeaten in each of the last 47 league and cup games he’s played in (W36 D11). If he misses out the 4/7 on the away win might look a little short.
Everton have lost 11 of their last 12 clashes with Manchester City but they’ll fancy this one. Their run of four consecutive wins was brought to and end at Spurs but prior to that they’d looked the part, especially at home in wins over Chelsea and Newcastle.
At the very least Everton can get on the scoresheet against a City side who have only kept four clean sheets in 17 top flight matches this season.
That should help us towards Over 2.5 Goals at 3/4. You can add in BTTS for a 6/5 shot.
Alternatively double it up with Chelsea to beat Crystal Palace for a 9/5 Double.
It’s been almost impossible to predict what the Blues will do this season but tonight’s match against the Eagles feels like one they should win.
Palace have won just one in 11 and don’t often enjoy their trips to Stamford Bridge where they’ve lost the last six.
A Blues win while they score two or more pays 21/20.
Celtic won at Dundee yesterday to guarantee they’ll go in to the Glasgow Derby on Saturday top of the pile.
But Rangers should narrow the gap once more with a win over Ross County at Ibrox tonight.
The Gers have conceded just eight goals in the league and it’s 8/11 for them to win to nil, something they’ve done in 12 of 18 games so far.
The Edinburgh Derby is the live match from the SPFL tonight at Easter Road.
Hibernian scored two in three minutes in the last encounter to salvage a point but its just one win in twelve (D5 L6) in this fixture in all competitions for the Hibees.
Hearts come in to this one in decent shape, they’ve won six of their last nine with their only three defeats coming against Rangers (twice) and at Pittodrie. Lawrence Shankland has scored eight of the Jambos’ last ten goals and is now on 15 for the season. The Scotland striker is 7/4 to net tonight.
On the outright market Hibs are favourites at 29/20 with the visitors at 7/4, which looks the best value of the two.
St Mirren are on a worrying slide down the table and have now been overtaken by tonight’s opponents, Kilmarnock who occupy fourth.
Home advantage could swing things in their favour though against a Killie side who have won just three on the road in 29 matches over this season and last.
Over a similar period the Buddies have won 14 of 28 in Paisley and lost just once at home this season so 13/8 looks a fair price for the home win.
