Well, the FA Cup lived up to it’s usual reputation on Tuesday night – being an absolute nightmare for punters.
Sean Dyche made so many charges it was a surprise not to see Alistair Campbell and King of the J̶u̶n̶g̶l̶e̶ Castle, Jordan North handed a claret and blue jersey. Burnley paid the price and exited the competition at the hands of Bournemouth who were deserved 2-0 winners.
At Old Trafford Man Utd and West Ham gouged out a 0-0 draw before Scott McTominey’s extra-time goal separated the two sides to put Ole Gunnar Solkskjaer’s side into the quarter finals. I wonder what delights Wednesday’s four ties have in store?
Wednesday’s Football Tips
Team news will be crucial again ahead of tonight’s ties so keep your eye on the offical club accounts on twitter if you can.
Pick of the FA Cup matches looks to be at Goodison Park where Everton welcome Spurs. The bookies can’t separate the sides, and who can blame them? making each 17/10 to win inside 90 minutes. Both managers tend to take cup competitions seriously and know the value of silverware to their respective clubs.
James Rodriguez is a doubt and would be big loss for the Toffees while Spurs’ chances could rest on whether Jose Mourinho starts with Harry Kane following his return from injury.
Leicester’s Brendan Rodgers has a similar conundrum with Jamie Vardy however he has said that the hitman will feature in order to help him back to match fitness. That would swing things in the Foxes’ favour at 17/20 for the visit of Brighton.
Man City have been imperious in the Premier League but Pep Guardiola will likely ring the changes for their trip to Swansea which should level the playing field a bit. Lowly Cheltenham managed to find the net against City in the previous round and the Swans have been in good scoring form latey, netting 17 in their last seven. Man City should progress but there’s some value at even money on a goal for the home side.
