15/8 on a Leicester win over Chelsea never made much sense and plenty of punters snapped it up pre-kick-off. They duly obliged with a 2-0 win that propelled them to top of the table and looking like serious title contenders.
A fifth defeat in eight Premier League matches puts Frank Lampard under serious pressure and he’s now 5/4 favourite to be the next manager relieved of his duties.
Well done all the winners on the site on Tuesday. On to Wednesday…
Wednesday’s Tips
Leicester City’s residency at the summit of the table could be short lived as both Manchester clubs are in action on Wednesday and each would jump back above the Foxes with a win.
Manchester United will be aiming to equal a club record of 17 unbeaten away from home in the top flight. They’re 18/5 for the win and have a solid record against Fulham. Goals have been hard to come by for them though and they’ve now scored just five in their last six. A United win and Under 2.5 goals pays 3/1.
Aston Villa‘s issues have been well documented in recent weeks but boss Dean Smith hopes to have some of those forced to sit out back in the squad, however they’ve not played since new year so could be a bit rusty at the Etihad.
Manchester City are flying at the moment and became the first team to record five consecutive wins in the Premier League this season with a routine 4-0 win over Crystal Palace. They’ve score 19 in their last five meetings with Villa and another high-scorer could be on the cards. City are 1/1 to score over 2.5 against what could still be a depleted Villa side.
The Manchester Double pays just over Even money at SBK.
There’s half a dozen games in the Championship where Norwich City (8/15) can extend their lead at the top of the table with a win at home to Bristol City. Brentford (4/7 at home to Luton) will be looking to jump from 6th to 3rd with none of their nearest rvals in action.
In Scotland Celtic should be back to near-enough full strength and for their fans it’ll be a relief just to get back to the football after another turbulent week in the east end of Glasgow.
But they’ve found Livingston a really tough place to visit in recent years and have failed to win there in their last three visits. The sides drew 0-0 at Celtic Park on Saturday but it should be a much-changed starting XI that takes to the field for the Hoops who are 8/11 to win.
That draw ended Livi’s run of eight consecuive wins but they remain unbeaten in nine and are 4/1 to win or even money Double Chance.
