So much for teams being goal-shy so far in the Champions League! Things went goal crazy on Tuesday night with a mammoth 35 goals scored across the eight games.
Apologies to those who took yesterday’s advice not to back Skybet’s total goals special! It would’ve made for a handsome payday.
On the plus side the Super Single won again as Liverpool took all three points in a rollercoaster of a match in Madrid. That makes it nine winning Super Singles from the last ten.
Tonight Manchester United welcome Atalanta to Old Trafford and the spotlight is back on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer once more after a 4-2 defeat at Leicester City at the weekend. With a squad bursting with individual talent the Norwegian needs a win to take the heat off again but like Villarreal, Atalanta will provide a tough test. They’re 7/2 to leave Manchester with all three points.
It was Ronaldo’s 95th minute winner that secured the three points against the Spaniards and the Champions League’s all-time top scorer is 13/5 to be the man to break the deadlock once more.
Goals are usually guaranteed when Atalanta are in action so no surprise to see Over 2.5 goals at just 4/9. One for the accas perhaps.
Chelsea should have an easier time of it at Stamford Bridge where Malmo are the visitors. The Swedes have struggled so far in the group stages, losing 3-0 to Juventus and 4-0 to Zenit and it could be a long night for them in London. Bookies aren’t taking any chances with the Blues at 1/10.
It’s a tough game to find some value in but a Chelsea clean sheet combined with them scoring at least two goals can be backed at 7/10 on a Bet365 BetBuilder.
Bayern Munich are absolutely flying at the moment and can’t stop scoring. They hit five past Leverkusen in the first half at the weekend and have scored 48 goals in their last 10 games. Again it’s difficult to find value here, and three-legged BetBuilders are difficult to pull off but a Bayern win, 2+ Bayern goals and a Lewandowski goal pays 10/11.
We can however concoct an 11/10 Double by pairing a Bayern win with another victory for Fulham in the Championship.
The Cottagers host Cardiff City who have lost their last six and eight of their last nine including a humbling 3-0 derby defeat to Swansea at the weekend. We’ve profited from Fulham (1/2) plenty of times already this season and can do so again, especially at home where they’ve taken 13 points from 18.
