The race for the Scottish Premiership will no doubt take a few twists and turns before the end of the season and tonight could be an important chapter in the end-of-season story.
On paper Celtic have the trickier evening ahead as they make the trip north to face Aberdeen. The Dons have just one win in six in the league but they did hold Rangers to a draw a couple of weeks ago so Stephen Glass will draw on that performance as evidence they can get something tonight.
But Celtic have been in irresistable form in the last week. A breathtaking 3-0 win over Rangers was quickly followed by a 4-0 demolition of Motherwell and they look unstoppable when they’re on their A-game.
Regular readers won’t be surprised to see us zone in on Celtic corners once more. They racked up another 10 at Fir Park to maintain their average of 10 per game and landed our Super Single with over 3.5 in the first half. The Hoops are the same price of 4/5 (Bet365) repeat that feat at Pittodrie while it’s also 4/5 for them to hit over 7.5 across the 90 minutes.
At Ibrox, Rangers host out-of-form Hibernian who’s only win in six was an extra-time victory over League One side Cove Rangers. New boss Shaun Maloney is already feeling the heat from some Hibee fans so leaving the south side of Glasgow with anything would be a welcome boost.
The Gers responded to defeat at Celtic Park with an excellent 5-0 win over Hearts on Sunday and will be delighted to have Alfredo Morelos back and amongst the goals. The striker notched twice upon his return from international duty and is 5/6 to score anytime tonight or 3/1 to break the deadlock.
Rangers corners should also be profitable. At home they average 8.54 per match so Over 6.0 at 4/6 looks solid enough or you could double them up with Celtic to do the same for a 7/5 double.
Free-scoring Ross County could be worth an interest at 11/8 at home to Livi. The league’s top scorer, Regan Charles-Cook picked up Player of the Month for January and he’s surprisingly joint 8th in the betting to score in Dingwall. You can get 11/4 on him netting anytime at Bet365. That looks a value bet.
St Mirren 0 St Johnstone 0 – that’s all! Or take 11/8 on Under 2.5 Goals.
In England Spurs look the safest shout of the night although are just 3/5 at home to Southampton.
While Norwich will have their backers at 12/5 when they host Crystal Palace. The break came at the wrong time for the Canaries who were flying. They retruned with a good cup win at Wolves on Saturday so will be full of confidence against the Eagles who have only won once away from home all season.
Super Single / Double
- Celtic Over 3.0 First Half Corners 4/5 (Bet365)
- Regan Charles-Cook (Ross County) to score anytime 11/4 (Bet365)
- Celtic & Rangers both over 6.0 total corners Double 7/5 (Bet365)
