The most anticipated tips of the week arrived yesterday as The Caddy nailed his colours to the mast for this week’s 150th Open Championship.
Our brilliant golf tipster has been red hot lately and delivered his ninth winner of the year in last week’s Scottish Open so he’s in great form to whittle down to the field to his top three fancies. Regular followers of his tips won’t be too surprised when they see who his headline tips is! Let’s hope one of his selections does the business for us at St Andrew’s once more.
Don’t miss out on the chance to play in our free Open Championship competition where EVERY entrant will receive a £50 travel voucher from our friends at Golf Travel Centre. There’s also £250 of prizes to be won if you can finish top of the leaderboard so make sure you get your entry in before first tee-off on Thursday morning.
On the football front we’re looking for Bodo/Glimt to complete a European Double from yesterday’s post at 13/10 after Sheriff Tiraspol win 1-0 last night.
Maribor let us down last week, only drawing 0-0 with Belarusians, Shakhtyor Soligorsk, but they could be worth a second chance at more tempting odds of 7/4 in the return leg.
The group stages of the Scottish League Cup proved as tricky as ever last night with Hibs being the biggest named casualites, going down 1-0 at Falkirk. Tonight’s banana skin could be lying in wait for Clyde who host Bonnyrigg Rose. The ambitious Midlothian side will be aiming to make their mark in League Two this season and could land a blow or two in these group stages.
Clyde were thumped 5-0 by the Hibees at the weekend and look worth opposing. It would’ve been nicer to get bigger than 7/4 on Bonnyrigg, so small stakes only.
Match of night is at Rugby Park where Derek McInnes’ Kilmarnock welcome Partick Thistle. Killie could be one to watch on their return to the top flight and in veteren striker Kyle Lafferty have goals and experience in them. They’ll be keen to get off to a winning start in front of their own fans at 3/4.
