European Champions Italy are on course to add a second title to their honours list in just a few short months.
Standing in their way are Spain this evening and the winners of the other UEFA Nations League semi-final between Belgium and France.
The Italians can look forward to home advantage with all four remaining matches taking place in Milan and Turin, the final being hosted at the San Siro on Sunday night.
Despite some iffy draws with Bulgaria and Switzerland post-Euro 2020, the feel-good factor remains with the Italian squad who are now unbeaten in 37 matches – a world record at international level.
It was the Italians who ended Spain’s European Championship hopes, knocking them out on penalties after a 1-1 draw. The Spaniards had a disappointing tournament overall, drawing with Sweden and Poland and have subsequntly lost to Sweden in World Cup qualifying. It’s fair to say they’re not of the same vintage as the all-conquering 2008-2012.
With all that in mind the 5/4 on Italy to win looks generous, especially with home advantage behind them. KevMac has found some more betting angles in his match preview.
