After a 0-4 start to their VCT 2023 EMEA League campaign, BBL Esports picked up a massive victory against Team Vitality on Friday with 13-8 on Ascent and 13-9 on Haven. Even though it marked only their first victory of the season, it wasn’t too shocking to see them win.
BBL Esports have had a few solid performances so far, so it was only a matter of time before they picked up a win, but the question remains – can BBL keep the wind in their sails?
Like BBL Esports, Team Heretics have won just one series this season, against Karmine Corp in the first week of play. They’ve since lost against Fnatic (0-2), Natus Vincere (1-2), and Team Liquid, who beat them 13-8, 17-15 on Wednesday.
Both BBL Esports and Team Heretics have shown some moments of brilliance, and we’ve yet to see anything to set them apart. The offered Valorant betting odds suggest that BBL should win easily, but this doesn’t sound right, and it seems like the recency bias has something to do with the pricing of the match.
Expect a close series with all three maps played.

KOI entered VCT 2023 EMEA League as one of the teams to watch, but they’ve yet to show anything promising. After four rounds, they’re 1-3 with just one victory against Natus Vincere (2-0) on the opening day, but even that got overshadowed by KOI’s defeats against Vitality (0-2), Giants (0-2), and FUT Esports (0-2).
Karmine Corp sit at the bottom of the table with a 1-4 record (2-8 in maps) and a -60 round differential. Their only victory of the season happened at the end of March, when KC won against BBL (2-0), to which they added two very concerning losses against Team Liquid (2-13, 5-13) and Team Vitality (2-13, 6-13). However, KC played well against Natus Vincere (11-13, 7-13) last week.
The latest VCT betting odds suggest that this is KOI’s game to lose, and while it seems like it on paper, KOI haven’t shown anything that would warrant their price. A bet on Karmine Corp with a map advantage is an excellent choice, but there’s more value with on the moneyline market.
