I am currently on 899 winners! Hopefully I can break through the 900 barrier and get on my way to the 1000 mark…
I am at York this afternoon before heading west to Chester tomorrow. Both have been pretty lucky tracks for me, so long may that continue.
Friday at York
14:40 – ASTROGEM (18/1
) is trained by Harry Eustace. She is up in class and drops back in trip after finishing 3rd over 1 mile at Haydock last time. She ran a good race last time and although she has done a lot of her running from the front, we might try and hold her up today and try and pounce late. This looks like a hot race, but I think we have an each-way chance.
15:15 – VENTURA TEASE
VENTURA TEASE (28/1
) is trained by Bryan Smart. She was not totally disgraced despite finishing only seventh over this trip on debut at Carlisle. It’s always a pleasure to ride for Middleham Park Racing as they are a very professional outfit who always make very shrewd purchases and this filly will hopefully be up to winning races. Let’s hope today’s her day!
16:25 – MASTER MILLINER
MASTER MILLINER (5/1
) is trained by Emma Lavelle who is more well known for her jumpers than her flat horses! He bounced back to form when he came back to 2 miles at this track at the start of the month and is up 5lbs as a result. He likes a strong gallop so hopefully we’ll get that today, and if he does, then he’s got a good chance of winning again.
Saturday at Chester
14:35 – MUNTADAB
MUNTADAB is trained by Roger Fell. He returned to winning ways over this course and distance earlier this month. He has only been raised 2lbs for that win and is now down in class. He is drawn 5 and looks to have a fair chance of going close.
15:10 – MERCURIAL
MERCURIAL is trained by Tom Dascombe. I won on him here at Chester over five-furlongs earlier this year. He has since been tried up in trip but without any joy. He has quite a wide draw in 6 which isn’t ideal, but we know he acts around Chester.
16:55- MERCURIAL
BOOKMARK is trained by Michael Bell. She is a filly in fine form who is chasing her hat-trick. She went up 6lb for the recent course and distance win, but this represents a drop-in class. She is drawn 1 which would normally be a positive but she needs to be held up so we will need some luck! She got it last time but whether we get it again is another question. She’s clearly been well handicapped and she’s in brilliant form, so I am hopeful!

Stay safe,
Hayley!
