IT’S a busy old day but difficult to find value if backing either Rangers or Celtic. The prices on Rangers are absolutely ridiculous and for me the match is best left alone. Thirty degrees heat on a terrible pitch, no thanks.
I’ll stick closer to home and focus on a side I’ll be selecting for the third time in under a week. Step forward Hibernian. They’ve been great for goals with a 2-3 defeat and a 3-1 victory and with this being their third friendly match they should be a fair bit ahead of their English counterparts.
Carlisle vs Hibs (7.45pm)
Paul Heckingbottom’s Hibs side make the journey south to the north of England in what will be there third friendly outing before they kick of their Betfred Cup campaign against Stirling Albion on Saturday.
They went down 3-2 at Arbroath last Wednesday in what was a makeshift starting 11 – they then followed that up with a convincing 3-1 win at Dunfermline in a match that saw more of a proper starting 11 feel to it.
No teams news yet but id expect them to be strong tonight and regardless of who starts they will have plenty of options from the bench. Hopefully Kamberi and Horgan both start this evening.
Carlisle are managed by ex Jambo Steven Pressley so will be in for plenty of stick from the 1000+ Hibs fans who are travelling to this.
This is United’s first pre-season friendly and you have to feel Hibs will not only have more quality, their fitness and match sharpness should be at a much better level.
Taking Hibs to win this at a shade under evens (decent price in my opinion) and like their last two matches taking over 1.5 second-half goals to land again.
Recommended Bets
- Hibs to beat Carlisle
- 24/25 (Marathonbet) (NAP)
- Over 1.5 second-half goals
- 5/6 (Bet365)
