There’s another big weekend ahead in the Scottish top flight, with the standout fixture seeing third face first in the capital as Hearts play host to Rangers on Sunday.
There’s also a key fixture at the bottom end of the table, as Ross County look to get themselves off the foot of the Scottish Premiership.
High Noon Edinburgh Test for Rangers
Rangers lead the way with the defending champions still holding a four-point lead at the top, thanks to a 14-game unbeaten league run that extends back to late August.
This Sunday (12:00) though they face a Hearts team that claimed a point on their visit to Ibrox in mid-October, thanks to a last-minute equaliser from Craig Halkett.
After their setback at Celtic last week, Hearts bounced back with a win at Livingston to keep them nine points off the pace.
It’s also worth noting their form at Tynecastle, with Robbie Neilson’s men unbeaten in the league on home soil this term, including victory over Celtic on the opening weekend in August.
Hearts have also scored in all but one of their home matches in 2021. A Rangers win and both teams to score is available to back at 17/10.
Rangers have failed to win on their last three visits to Tynecastle and having played in Europe on Thursday, this will be a stern test of squad depth for manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst, winner of all four domestic games since succeeding Steven Gerrard.
Kemar Roofe scored the winner in Rangers’ last trip to Edinburgh, converting late penalty at Hibs, with 29/10 on offer for Rangers to score a penalty on Sunday.
Celtic to Keep Up Title Pressure
Ange Postecoglou really seems to have got his ideas across to his Celtic players and the Hoops face Motherwell on Sunday (15:00), looking for a fifth consecutive league win.
Although they also had a European game on Thursday, Celtic have the added bonus that both that game against Real Betis and Sunday’s match are at Parkhead and that should see them secure the three points when the Steelmen visit.
The hosts have not lost in the league at home this season and even more impressive is the fact that they have only conceded two goals in those eight matches. A Celtic win-to-zero is available at 8/15.
Motherwell will be no pushover, having lost just one of their last five, but they have lost their last nine meetings with Celtic and are massively up against it again on Sunday in Glasgow’s East End.
County Can Gain Crucial Win
Ross County are stuck at the bottom of the table after 15 games but have shown some good signs in recent weeks, as they prepare for a crunch clash with Dundee on Saturday (15:00).
Malky Mackay’s men go into this clash unbeaten in their last three (one win and two draws) and a victory this weekend could see them move off the bottom and to within two points of their opponents.
Defensively, County look more assured with two clean sheets in the last three games and will be confident of adding another three points to their tally.
Dundee head to Dingwall having won just one away game in the Scottish Premiership this season. The Dee suffered a 0-5 defeat to their opponents when they met at Dens Park in October and Ross County are 23/20 to collect another vital win on Saturday.
