I have had a nice trickle of winners in the last couple of weeks which has been nice. Not quite to the level of Oisin Murphy, who rode 15 winners last week, or David Probert, who rode 5 yesterday! I see both guys a lot when riding out at Andrew Balding’s and they are two excellent jockeys and great guys who deserve their successes!
Friday at Newbury
1:40 – EGYPSYAN CRACKELLI
EGYPSYAN CRACKELLI (28/1
) is having his third start of his career. He has shown ability on his two starts to date and he does look capable of winning races, but this looks a high-quality set of two-year-olds, at least going off their pedigrees, and we might have our work cut out here.
2:45 – SIR TITAN
SIR TITAN (20/1
) is a horse I know well! I’ve won on him twice, been second on him twice and also been third on him twice! Those wins on him were when he was trained by Marcus Tregoning, but he’s a dude and very rarely runs a bad race. Tony Carroll has been firing in the winners and you’d be a brave man to rule him out here.
3:20 – SILKEN PETALS
SILKEN PETALS (12/1
) has been an absolute star this season! She has yet to finish out of the frame in seven starts and has really thrived by winning her last two starts at York and Kempton. She arrives here in search of more improvement and in the hope she can secure some black type for her owners which would be fantastic for them. Black Type for a filly like her that cost 8,000 guineas would be a huge! She more than deserves her place in a race like this and I can’t wait to see what she can deliver.
Saturday at Doncaster
3:00 – VIA SERENDIPITY
VIA SERENDIPITY, like Sir Titan, is a horse I know inside out! He is in great form at home. I’ve not actually been riding him out myself but he has been ridden by a good friend of mine who says he is going really well. He didn’t enjoy Chester last time and a return to 7 furlongs will also play to his strengths. He has dropped to an appealing mark and I doubt it’ll be too long before he is back in the winners’ enclosure!
Stay safe,
Hayley!
