It’s win or bust for Manchester United at Old Trafford tonight where only victory will do against Bayern Munich.
Actually, a win might not be enough. They must also hope that it finishes level between Copenhagen and Galatasaray if they’re to stay in the competition.
Bayern are already through but pride will prevent them going easy in Manchester. They’ll want to bounce back from a 5-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday which left them four points off the top of Bundesliga by the end of the weekend.
The Red Devils have had a wretched Champions League campaign, in which they’ve conceded goals for fun – only Antwerp have conceded more after five matches. After shipping three to Brentford at the weekend that has to be a major concern tonight.
Harry Kane and co are 8/11 to score two or more, which might be a bit short but with the shackles off and Kane out to score on native soil won’t be far away.
Arsenal’s work in Group B is already done so there’s the possibility of them taking their foot off the gas in Eindhoven tonight.
The Gunners are guaranteed top spot while PSV cannot be caught by RC Lens in second, so tonight’s match is a dead rubber as far as the final group standings are concerned.
Between that and news that Mikel Arteta will rotate his squad there’s been a bit of money for the hosts which has seen them shorten to 13/8.
Again, goals could be the best angle. Over 2.5 pays just 3/5 but you can get 5/6 by adding BTTS. It’s even money on the Eredivisie side to score two or more.
Sevilla’s proud record in the Europa League means they can’t be ruled out of nicking third place in the group and a crack at defending the trophy they won back in May.
They don’t have much form to speak of but only a win will do in France against a Lens side that have found a bit of form domestically themselves. They’re unbeaten in 10 in France but were thumped 6-0 at Arsenal a fortnight ago meaning they need at least a point tonight.
There’ll be no fans in Stade Bollaert-Delelis due to a country-wide ban in France so that could be a bit of a leveller. The Spaniards are 14/5 to claim the win they need and 7/4 in the Draw No Bet market.
In the Championship Leeds United are the team of the moment. They’ve picked up 19 points from the last 21 and head north in search of three points at Sunderland tonight.
The Black Cats relieved Tony Mowbray of his duties last week but stand-in boss Mike Dodds led them to a 2-1 win over West Brom on Saturday to stake a claim for the permanent position.
A win over Leeds tonight would cement his chances but you can’t be backing against Leeds at the moment, at 21/20.
It’s now just two wins in 13 for Preston who’ve slipped to ninth in the table having led for a period earlier in the season. They look vulnerable again tonight away to Huddersfield.
The Terriers are unbeaten in four (W1 D3) but have now drawn nine, the highest tally in the league. They’re 13/8 to win but given their propensity to share the points take the 4/5 on the Draw No Bet.
Bet of the night could be in Scotland where Duncan Ferguson’s Inverness make the trip to bottom side Greenock Morton.
Caley bounced back from their first defeat under Big Dunc with an impressive 4-1 win at Queen’s Park and look overpriced at 7/4 to win.
Morton secured a much-needed victory at the weekend over fellow strugglers Arbroath but Inverness have been in such good form of late that they have to be backed at that price to either win ot to score two or more at 13/8.
