A point will be enough for England’s Lionesses in today’s clash (12.00) with China but manager Sarina Wiegman will be desperate for her side to put a strong performance.
Two 1-0 wins have put them in pole position in Group D but plenty of other nations have looked more impressive during the group stages. A morale boosting victory would set up a last-16 clash with surprise package Nigeria so finishing top of the group will be priority today.
It’s almost a year to the day that the English women were crowned European champions but injuries have best Wiegman’s squad and they’ll be without Barcelona’s Kiera Walsh for the remainder of the tournament after she was carried off against Denmark. However they’re still third favourites to lift the trophy at 6/1.
Just four goals have been scored in Group D so far and another low-scoring win for England could be on the cards today. They’re 1/2 to pick up the win and 11/10 to to do so while keeping China out.
USA are also growing in to the tournament. Like England, a draw would be enough for the Americans against Portugal but they too will be keen to top the group in order to avoid an impressive Swedish side in the knock-out stages.

A Fenerbahce squad which boasts the likes of Edin Džeko, Dušan Tadić and Michy Batshuayi, won 5-0 at home to Moldovans, Zimbru Chisinau (who struggled past San Marino opposition in the previous round) last week. They’re a short price at 2/11 to win the return leg but could find their way to goal a few times once more. Over 2.5 goals for the Turks pays 4/5 but it could be worth pushing the boat out for small stakes on them to hit four or more at 2/1.
