Five ties remain unresolved in the Fourth Round of the FA Cup and we’ll know four of the team who’ll progress by close of play tonight.
Sheffield Wednesday and Wrexham take the top billing, live on ITV4, as the National League side try, at the second attempt, to overcome their Championship opponents.
The fairytale ending was denied them by a 95th minute equaliser in a thrilling 3-3 draw at the Racecourse a week ago. That might’ve been the Welsh side’s best chance to progress but they showed enough quality and spirit that the Blades will know this isn’t a foregone conclusion this evening.
Understandably the bookies have the Championship side as hot favourites at 9/20 with the Red Dragons at 11/2.
After sharing six goals in the first match goals could be the best angle tonight. Both sides are second top scorers in their respective divisions so they know where the back of the net is. Over 2.5 pays 4/6.
At Turf Moor, Burnley should be expected to get the better of Ipswich after a 0-0 draw at Portman Road.
Vincent Kompany identified the replay as an opportunity to give some new members of his squad some game-time almost immediately after the final whistle so there could be a few changes tonight. However, with League One sides Sheffield Wednesday or Fleetwood awaiting the winners it’s brilliant chance for the Clarets to go deep in to the competition.
There’s no questioning Burnley’s performance in the Championship so far this season and they served notice of their Premier League credentials in the previous round with a 4-2 win over Bournemouth. 7/8 (SBK) therefore looks generous against the League One outfit.
Luton Town are up in to fourth in the Championship but they toiled against League Two Grimsby at Kenilworth Road where the Mariners claimed a well-earned 2-2 draw.
It took the Hatters two matches to get past Wigan in the previous round and they should previal at the second attempt again this evening. It might require a couple of goals to do it against a Grimsby side who have scored in seven of their last eight outings.
