Both Champions League ties look like they hang in the balance this evening but the bookies are in no doubts as to who they think will progress.
Inter Milan take a 1-0 lead to FC Porto and Bet365 make them 3/10 to see things through and book a place in the last 8. While at the Etihad, Manchester City are just 1/6 to finish the job after a 1-1 draw with RB Leipzig in Germany last week.
It’s the one trophy that has eluded City so far and despite not firing on all cylinders this season they still remain the bookies favourites to be crowned Champions of Europe in June.
RBL will be happy to still be in the tie after a dominant first half display by City at the Red Bull Arena in which they failed to capitalise on thier control of the game. A spiritied second half saw Leipzig force their way back in to the game and they’ll take heart from that.
The teams shared nine goals the last time they met in Manchester when Leipzig threatened to leave with point before City put on gloss on the 6-3 scoreline. Goals could be on the menu again tonight. City kept just one clean sheet in their three home group stage matches while Leipzig scored in all but one of their six games in Group F.
But the bad news for the visitors is that top scorer Christopher Nkunku will miss out and he’ll be a big loss at the top of the pitch.
No such worries for the hosts however and of course the Champions League stage is where Erling Haaland comes alive. The Norwegian phenomenon sat out City’s final group match against Sevilla but scored three in the other two including the winner against his former club, Borussia Dortmund.
A Haaland goal (4/7) combined with two or more for City in a home win pays 10/11 on a BetBuilder.
Middlesbrough and Coventry were on the shortlist on Saturday and Boro obliged when the came from behind at Swansea to deliver a winning Super Single. They were as big as 4/5 to beat Stoke tonight after the final whistle on Saturday but have been backed in to 3/4. Still good enough for the accas tonight.
Michael Carrick’s side have scored two or more in each of their last eight matches and at 10/11 with SBK that looks like great alternative way to get them on side.
Coventry were held at home by Hull City on Saturday but it’s now seven without defeat for the Sky Blues who aren’t entirely out of the play-off picture. Tonight they travel to Wigan who have shown some shoots of recovery since Shaun Maloney’s appointment. But they’ve not been able to turn enough draws in to wins and defeats in their last two leaves them bottom of the table.
At 29/20 the visitors look worthy of a punt tonight.
