Premier League games continue to be hit with postponements and tonight it’s Everton v Liecester City that’s affected, leaving Southampton v Brentford as the solitary top flight match.
In the Championship, Reading will be reeling from their embarrassing FA Cup exit at the hands of sixth-tier Kidderminster and boss Veljko Paunović has vowed to turn things around. He’ll need to start with a win over promotion-chasing Fulham, who’s season has hit the buffers.
The Cottagers were flying at the top of the Championship mid-November but a run of five games without a win, picking up just four points from 15, has seen them slip to third – but the good news is that they’ve a couple of games in hand over the teams above them who have failed to fully cash-in on Fulham’s ropey run.
Fulham’s extra-time win over Bristol City was a step in the right direction and it could be timely to get them back onside.
Despite the recent poor form Fulham are still the top scorers in the division but could do wih Mitrovic finding his scoring boots again. If he can then they could be good for a couple of goals against a Reading side that‘s failed to keep a clean sheet since the middle of October (12 games).
We’re off and running at the African Cup of Nations. All matches will be broadcast live on Sky Sports and Tolu has previewed Tuesday’s clash between two of the tournament’s dark horses; Nigeria v Egypt (4pm).
