You know the football season is well and truly back when you’ve a full midweek card of matches to choose from in the Football League.
With next to no form to go on it’s not going to be easy to confidently back any team at this stage, especially in the Championship, where, after only two matches, no-one has made perfect start and TEN teams only separated by goal difference at the top of the table on four points.
Fulham notched the most impressive result of the weekend, a 5-1 win at Huddersfield and they travel to the Den for Tuesday’s live match on Sky Sports. As one pundit put it at the weekend; “Any team finishing above Fulham will win the league”, so Marco Silva should be targeting three points against the likes of Millwall.
Off the back of that morale-boosting win Fulham look capable at 6/5.
Something’s got to give at the Pirelli Stadium where two of League One’s unbeaten sides meet. Sunderland are the visitors at Burton Albion and are rated 5/4 favourites to make it three wins from three. The Black Cats won a MK Dons on Saturday, largely against the run of play but showed a resilience that should bode well for the season ahead.
Bolton have been involved in two 3-3 draws in their first two games and it’s even money for Over 2.5 Goals for thier visit to Lincoln City. BTTS is 3/4.
Shrewsbury are yet to score a goal in League One and visit Portsmouth who’ve made a flawless start with two opening wins. Pompey look good Acca material and just about backable as a Super Single at 4/5 at Marathonbet.
There were three 0-0 draws in League Two on Saturday with a further three teams failing to find the net, meaning four teams have yet to score a league goal.
Forest Green lead the way having scored five across their two wins and they travel to Rochdale aiming to extnd their winning start to the season. Both teams were tipped to be at the opposite ends of the table so 11/8 on Rovers could be good value.
The German Super Cup is also live on Sky Sports at 7.30. Questions are being asked of Bayern‘s title credentials this season and those queries look justified on Friday nights when they were held to fairly uninspiring draw at Monchengladbach.
Erling Braut Haaland inspired Dortmund to an impressive 5-2 win over Frankfurt and will be keen to make a title statement in the Super Cup. They’re 15/8 to win inside 90 minutes or 21/20 to lift the trophy. SlipsTips takes a corners and cards angle for his BetBuilder for the match.
